Belgian waffles are awesome!!! When I was in Belgium, the first thing I did as soon as I stepped foot off the ship was search for a waffle stand. I didn't realize how common waffles were until I saw them in a vending machine.

Oh, man, real Belgian waffles are ridiculously good. And frites as well (Belgian french fries). I spent three years in Belgium when I was a kid. I wish American Belgian waffles would change their name - they're nothing near a real Belgian waffle. I have ultra-fond memories of hitting the waffle cart on the way into see a movie downtown. Ugh!

Yeah now here they're trying to dodge the fact that the waffles suck ass by calling them "Belgian style waffles," in the same manner people say New York style bagels and cheesecake, or Philly cheesesteak.

I had frites, those were great, too. A phone conversation I had with my mom panned out something like this:

[Me] Hi, I'm in Belgium!
[Mom] Did you have a waffle yet?
[Me] Yeah, it was great, I had it with vanilla ice cream, strawberries and walnuts. It was surprisingly very filling.

[pause]

[Mom] Wait, you're serious?!

Good choice on number 5. I had to conduct his 5th Symphony in my conducting class recently. What a great piece.
