New questions, a lil late cuz I was out of town this weekend:

1. What job do you have, and why do you like/hate it?
2. As a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up?"
3. Is the job you have now anything like what you imagined as a kid?
4. Do you have a five-year career plan?
5. In order to get the job of your dreams, is there anything you wouldn't do? Why?
1. I consider writing all of my band's music a job. IT'S HARD WORK! I love doing it though. It's music, and that's my only obsession tbqh. It's actually quite a downer for me because I have absolutely no other interests whatsoever. PBBBT.
2. I don't remember. :erk:
3. Definitely not. :erk:
4. Umm... nope? :erk:
5. I already have that job!!11oneone

1. I am a programmer, and it can be dull and boring, or stressful and mind killing. Never anything in between.
2. A Paleontologist, I was a dinosaur freak
3. No, it's even more boring
4. In 5 years I hope I'm paid more than I am now
5. Yes, Since the job of my dreams involves doing nothing whatsoever, doing something to get it kinda doesn't make much sense.

1. I'm looking for a job right now. But I'm going to school to be a recording engineer.
2. I changed my mind a lot. Doctor, archaeologist, scientists of all shapes and sizes, and finally settled on "rock star."
3. Well, no... I didn't imagine being an unemployed loser!
4. Sort of.
5. Sell out and play music I hate.

As of now, unemployed.
Love it, because it gives me more.... "me time".
Hate it, because I require money.
2. As a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up?"
A bunch of things. In order, a Rockstar, a Power Ranger, a Dragonball Z character, an animator, blank space, a wizard, and now a Rockstar again.
3. Is the job you have now anything like what you imagined as a kid?
Nope. Because way back in the day, I had no idea what 7/8 time signature meant.
4. Do you have a five-year career plan?
Maybe
5. In order to get the job of your dreams, is there anything you wouldn't do? Why?
Lotsa things. Anything involving Sodomy of any kind, killing of human life, and really alot of stuff, but those are the 2 biggest things.

1. I work at a bookstore, and I like it because I get to interact with all sorts of interesting people. I hate it because it's a pretty thankless job.
2. All sorts of things.
3. I knew at one point or another I would get to be a cashier of some sort; pushing buttons appealed to me for some reason. Now I wish I could go back in time and tell myself that it's not that cool  .
4. Graduate and get a real job?
5. Fuck my way to the top of the career ladder. Because it's trashy and people would be right in saying "she just got that job because she had sex with the boss." No thanks.

1.i have two jobs...Operating community transport and teaching guitar.
Both jobs are good...i'm on the net a lot on the first job and the teaching keeps a guitar in my hand....but i dislike teaching shit songs to students...and students who never practice.

2.An athlete (pre teen) or a rockstar (teen).

3.i didn't know what to expect.

4.Get more pay for doing less work....i'd prefer not to be teaching in another 5 years (been at the same place for 11 years now)

5.If it means i have to spend extended periods of time away from my son and partner....or any part of another mans anatomy has to enter any part of mine (or vice versa) then it ain't gonna happen.

1. I work part-time as a Network Tech at my university. I like it because when I'm not on assignment I just sit around at the office and browse the Internet. Also, I get to drive golf carts!

2. I wanted to be a gardener. It was so cool watching the "Mexicans" come work on my back lawn, seeing them use the sweet lawnmower and the enigmatic weed eater. Oh, and how they trimmed those bushes, oh my! Yea, I had strange perceptions as a kid. No, this isn't a joke, I got quite involved with my mom's gardening activities.

3. Hell no!

4. Uh, I'm going to grab my degree in Information Systems then hope for the best when it comes to employment :P.

5. Of course, I wouldn't lie to make my resume the "dream resume." Integrity is a must and I won't get to my dream job by being a hyprocite.

1. What job do you have, and why do you like/hate it?

I'm an engineering manager for a wireless telecommunications company. I like it because I get to build fancy towers all over town and leave my thumbprint on the scenery (kidding). It's fun keeping everybody connected to each other in this world of information. I don't like everybody's ignorance to the "health effects" associated with the technology, and the NIMBYs who don't want our infrastructure built yet they spend time to call customer care complaining our service sucks (hypothetical case of course).

2. As a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up?"

Shoot, I don't know that I ever bothered with this question. If I did, I, for the life of me, cannot recall what I wanted to be. Perhaps that just means I've become totally out of touch with my childhood or inner child. I don't think I ever thought I would be an engineer though.

3. Is the job you have now anything like what you imagined as a kid?

As above, no.

4. Do you have a five-year career plan?

Working on it. I've come pretty far in 12 years though, and it's helping me align my next five years. Unfortunately, in this day and age, moving up means moving out and I'm still weighing moving from my home to progress up the ladder.

5. In order to get the job of your dreams, is there anything you wouldn't do? Why?

I wouldn't compromise my morals, principles, or integrity. I think that goes without saying why. That would be an empty job once received.

1) Level II Service Desk/Data Center Coordinator - Likes: Easy, not too many "corporate" rules (small company), most people are decent. Dislikes: Not enough $'s for how far I travel, all the roads leading from WI to here are beyond fucked with construction. Hasn't been super busy for a LONG time, our merger/sale seems to not be going smoothly....

2) Policeman, Fireman, Fighter Pilot, Baseball player, football player, Scientist.

3) Hell no! I figured I'd be dead by 42!

4) After the last couple years prior to coming here, my 5 year plan is to be employed for the next 5 years..

5) There's LOTS of stuff I wouldn't do, and most of it has been covered here.

1. I have 2: media assistant (record classes and operate cameras), and creative designer within our graphics department (Arizona State). We call ourselves the "IDea Gurus." That job is cool, giving us lots of creative opportunities and access to awesome equipement. I might get the chance to compose a "theme song" for the department! The other job is ok, but can get really boring at times.

2. architect. For some reason I enjoyed drawing the nice houses I would see and visit. I guess I was captivated by the idea of being "the creator."

3. not at all. My media job is somewhat broadcast news-related, and I always thought the news business was boring and monotonous. Boy was I wrong!

4. Finish graduate school, look for a job that will somehow allow me to combine my passion for music with multimedia. In other words, seek and find my dream job!

5. Uh, "share" my talents with questionable figures? Come on, I'm a pretty honest and integrity-minded man, hehe! And I wouldn't compromise my beliefs, morals, or sense of judgment.

Would I have to mean it? Would I have to wear PoS shirts to work?

If Yes: Nope, no way, My burning hatred for all things PoS burns brighter than the Sun itself.....

If No: Sure, what the hell, as long as I'm not working FOR PoS.......lol
