The Friday Five

1. What’s the most embarrassing thing/job you’ve had to do to earn money?
Well i currently work at a porn store... not terribly embarrassing, but for some people it might be *shrugs*

2. What’s the easiest and quickest way you have earned a buck?
Sold a bunch of my shitty metalcore cds i got for review.

3. If you could set your own salary, according to your skills and worth, how much would you earn?
A lot because i spend a lot.

4. Are you a good saver?
Hell no.

5. What’s the most expensive and useless thing you have ever bought?
Just about everything i own? $50 bucks for a mercyful fate poster, $75 for a fatal portrait picture disc, and plenty of other things. yeah... i'd say that.

1) Probably car model/security for a research group. Dressed up nice, dolled up, just to keep people away from the prototypes. I saw the boxy SUV look (see Honda, Jeep, etc) a good 2 years before they hit the market. Job only lasted 2 days, but paid pretty good. AND we weren't allowed to speak while on the floor, unless asked a question by one of the survey takers...

2) This year at a WI casino. Stopped off for cheap smokes, Gambled $40, and walked away with $3750...paid off Progpower, and all my bills...

3) I should be making at least 90-100K a year in the IT field (I've been in it since 1985)

4) No, because I don't earn enough to keep socking it away. Seems as soon as save some money, something breaks on the house, or the car and sets me back again.

5) Bought a NOS Ibanez Jem LNG #236/777 that was never owned. Paid 1900 for it, so completely mint and perfect, it didn't get played much. The best thing about it was when my world came crashing down, and I had to sell it, I got $3000 for it....

1. I worked at the school cafeteria my freshman year of college. It's a good thing my friends didn't make much fun of me. Man, I made some gi-normous nacho dishes that got my supervisor mad but took my customers' breaths away  .

2. Nowadays, my dad pays me anywhere from $20-30 for mowing/trimming the lawn. Also, he pays me $5 per bath I give to one of my cats.

3. Realistically, between $7-8...Personally, I feel that I'm worth $15/hr.

4. Usually. If I'm saving, it's usually going to be for something big and I make sure I have at least a few hundred dollars in my account at any time.

5. I bought a $200 phone on eBay last week and it never showed, even though the seller and UPS say otherwise  . Other than that, I bought a $700 computer that died a year later....I gave it to a friend for free. Don't get me started on college textbooks and the hundreds of dollars I've thrown away by selling them back.

1. Probably working at the local convenience store back in high school, giving all my friends a rather nice discount for a few months. Then my boss found out :erk:

2. Mowing lawns.

3. Considering I'm only 22, I'll be nice and only say $400k a year...but realistically, probably somewhere near 35k a year.

4. During the semester, yes. During winter/summer break, nope.

5. Expensive: My PC at somewhere near a thousand.
Useless: Some DBZ videos back when I was 15-ish. Watched em once and never saw them again.
Expensively useless: The first keg I bought that not even half of it was drank.

When you can't even pwn your own guitar. You're just a sorry ass-licker. Born in 1995 and talking about shit you don't know a god damn thing about. Just shut your mouth and keep eating your cheese-poofs!

5. What’s the most expensive and useless thing you have ever bought?

1. The only three paying jobs I've had were at a hospital, at Bloomingdale's working in the warehouse, and at a bookstore. Nothing too embarrassing here.

2. Doing other people's homework for them.

3. I generally rip people apart with my rhetoric for free, but if I was paid to do it I'm sure I'd make loads of cash.

4. Yes. I'm pretty sensible when it comes to money.

5. I don't spend frivolously but on the rare occasion that I go shopping, I get stuff that I know will last me for a long time so it ends up being expensive. Case in point: I bought a $160 Kate Spade purse, (I had a $100 gift certificate so that covered a lot of the cost) but I've had it for the last five years and it's still going strong.

1. nothing, no work I ever did was embarrassing imo

2. MUUUUUUUUUUUUM, can I have a dollar

3. Hmm, I dont have a real job (still in school and some months left to 18 yet), atm I'm just distributing brochures to people (also quite an easy way to earn money-but veeery boring :erk: ) and I 'm satisfied with what I get, because thats quite a lot for this kind of job.

4. Well, if I have a achievable aim, like now, I'm saving the money, but if I have something and don't see the point when I finally get the rest to buy it, I tend to spend it on other things.

5. hmm, alot of small things (in price), the most expensive of it...Gothic II (10 €), usually I dont spend a lot of money on anything thats not well-thought, maybe in the future :D
The most expensive thing was a computer for almost 2000 €

1. Closest I have come to embarrasing was doing landscaping for about two weeks before I got fired.
2. Cereal taste tester when I was like 12. $20 to eat a bowl of cereal!
3. About what I earn now
4. I am a saver, and then later a spender :heh:

2. MUUUUUUUUUUUUM, can I have a dollar
 Whenever I used to do that I got told to ask my father and he'd act as if it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever asked of him.

"Daddy, I need $10 for train fare"
"TEN DOLLARS??? I gave you $20 two weeks ago!! What happened to that?!"
"I spent it."

Of course it was just a formality and I'd end up getting what I needed, but I still don't like asking people for money.

1. What’s the most embarrassing thing/job you’ve had to do to earn money?
Probably the ol' McDonald's job as a teen.
2. What’s the easiest and quickest way you have earned a buck?
Working at the Santa Clara County Fair, also as a teen..quick money, and a LOT of fun; those carnies know how to party!
3. If you could set your own salary, according to your skills and worth, how much would you earn?
A damn sight more than I make now. *g*
4. Are you a good saver?
When I need to be.
5. What’s the most expensive and useless thing you have ever bought?
I can't think of anything expensive AND useless; I don't usually have that level of disposable income, that I can waste it on expensive stuff that's useless..
