The Friday Five

Or, a deeply piercing commentary on the nature of immortality, acceptance of death, and cherishing life while we have it. Or maybe you just weren't paying attention to that plot that was "too hard to follow".

It wasn't a question of anything being too hard to follow, more that there was nothing at all to follow. The whole thing was a disjointed, convoluted mess.

lol@'fix global warming' and the oil situation. lol at wanting to change things that don't need changing.

For lack of desire to start a long and unnecessary (at least for this thread) discussion on the matter....I'll just assume we agree on that topic and give you a +1

I haven't seen the fountain, but I WILL give you a -10 for Timeline.

See, that I can accept though. Burnout is just in denial that he didn't "get" The Fountain, however fiercely he cries it. Go back to snatch

(see everyone? I don't pick on people. I pick on all of you.)

lol@'fix global warming' and the oil situation. lol at wanting to change things that don't need changing.

What's funny about fixing global warming and oil? Why don't you give reasons why you believe they don't need changed instead of throwing around baseless and ignorant statements that are contradicted by facts.

Holiday Five, a little bit early..
1. What holiday (if any) do you celebrate this time of year?
2. What do you do to celebrate that holiday?
3. Do you have any holiday traditions?
4. What's your favorite holiday carol/song?
5. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa?

1. What holiday (if any) do you celebrate this time of year?

Christmas. Not necessarily in a religious way, but we always do presents/christmas dinner/christmas tree etc. (blah blah I'm a hypocrite I know)

2. What do you do to celebrate that holiday?

Exchange gifts, do a big christmas eve dinner at my Great Uncle's lake house with the entire extended family. Then christmas dinner at my grandparents (usually just my family, my grandparents, and my two aunts and their familes).

3. Do you have any holiday traditions?

Nothing out of the ordinary really. It's usually just a time to spend with family and (at least for me) to relax a bit and wind down from the semester leading up to it.

4. What's your favorite holiday carol/song?

Really depends on who's performing it, the specific arrangement, etc. Currently, it's my teacher's arrangement of My Favorite things....which I don't really think of as much of a holiday song, but it usually coincides with the holidays.

5. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa?

7 or 8

1. Christmas, but its a bit of a joke really.
2. Presents in the morning, followed by lunch at a pub (hotel)... my mum and I both detest cooking with a passion, and no-one wants to do the dishes, and then veging for the rest of the day.
3. We have to eat breakfast before anyone gets any presents. This goes waaaay back to when I was little, and because I'm a mean mum, I make my girls do the same.
4. I do not, and never have, liked christmas carols. I think they're all very depressing. My favourite piece of music at this time of year though, is TSO's Christmas Eve/Sarajevo, and I will play it over and over.
5. Don't remember, but probably in grade 3, so around 7.

Holiday Five, a little bit early..
1. What holiday (if any) do you celebrate this time of year?

2. What do you do to celebrate that holiday?
Bitch to each other about other family members, drink, eat etc

3. Do you have any holiday traditions?
We have, for many years, been re wrapping a Chia Head and passing it down.

4. What's your favorite holiday carol/song?
Kenny G holiday album series.

5. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa?
I don't remember. I wasn't too intelligent so it may have been well into middle school.
