I am probably biased because I met a lot of people that'd do such thing as intentionally hurt someone innocent, but I think if you'd compare number of people rightly convicted vs. wrongly convicted, it wouldn't be worth it. It also depends on severity of sentence, I have no idea how to punish such an offence.
