The Grand Conjuration tabbed (roughly)

Due to the numerous (and obnoxious) skips in the mp3 it's impossible to tell if they are for sure playing 4/4 through the last few minutes or throwing in time changes, so I just tabbed it as if it was all in 4/4. The acoustic part is also impossible to hear clearly with the crappy sound, and on that first complex riff I think my timing might be a bit off-same with parts of the solo. It's just impossible to tab things too accurately when the sound quality on something is so bad. I'll do the strings and bass and polish it up once the real thing comes out.

yeah i hope it isnt really in drop d too, because its lame, i really respect bands that play in standard way more than drop, drop is emo, drop is linkin park...i dont see why the song cant be played in standard, from a quick look at the tab made, which is well done - dont get me wrong, just dont like drop

its just a heavier version of standard tuning, if used properly (Demon, BWP) its very effective.

It's not heavier, it just allows you to go one measly tone lower and unless you know it really fucking well, it will restrict your playing because you won't be able to use the traditional open and bar chords that include the 6th string.

Anyway, to me heaviness isn't measured by how low you can go. I never understood that, but maybe I just hear things differently. I think the way the music is constructed is what makes it heavy. If you have both high notes and low notes playing off of each other, that's what makes it heavy, I think.

alternate tunings will not restrict your playing... wow... that's pretty much the exactly opposite of what i think of when i think of alternate tunings. The whole point of it is to learn new ways of playing which are not possible in standard.

Not liking a band because they play drop is probably the lamest thing i've ever heard also, whoever said that. Maybe just think about that for a minute.

psh i stand firm, drop is not cool, too many bands that dont really know how to play...play in drop d, bands like hell is for heroes etc, its a cop out, an easy way to play power chords live. so playing in standard, or maybe in an open tuning or something suggests to me they're better. Come on you have to admit loads of shitty pop bands play in drop. I'm liking C standard lately, akercocke etc use it.
