The Halo Effect - New Album 2023/2024

If they want to include it on an EP or as a Japanese bonus then whatever. Pretty weird to announce it with cover artwork, etc. Does anyone really want covers from an MDM supergroup anyway? Admittedly a cover of something off Lunar Strain would be sick with Stanne and Jesper in the band, but anything else... meh.

The best covers IF did were the non-metal tracks. It actually feels creative to convert a pop track into a genuinely cool metal song. Metal to metal, not so much.

Seems really strange to choose a Danzig cover. This had to be a Niclas idea. I don't think it was executed well either. I'll probably never listen to it again if I'm being honest.

Feels more like something that’d fit into Cemetery Skyline, but it’s fucking gorgeous, and I love it

I didn’t see the last page and a half of messages, shit

I love the guitar tone here so much, I really hope we get some clean passages like this on the next album— Whenever it’ll come.

I won’t lie, I forgot there was going to be a covers EP. Couldn’t tell you when we’ll find anything out.

That seems to be the case pretty often with acoustic, cover, and re-recording EPs/LPs. I remember in 2017 or so Disturbed wanted to do an acoustic EP with some old songs and some new, but it never happened, instead resulting in five acoustic songs on Evolution (Shit album, but not because of the acoustic songs). FFDP said they wanted to re-record their debut album back in 2021 or so, but that manifested in their new “best of” album recently (Clayman 2020 tier shit). Fun fact there, they tried spinning it upon release as being inspired by Taylor Swift. Real tough bro shit. I think In This Moment was going to redo all of Blood originally, but they’ve phoned shit in since 2018, so they just did four songs in really minimalistic 80s-styled covers that didn’t have effort from any of the members in any sort of way. Down, Wicked, & No Good was done pretty competently overall and didn’t have any hiccups in its marketing, so In Flames is unfortunately better than all of them with that.

I have a lot more faith in the quality THE will deliver, but yeah, they’ve tended to be really confusing with announcing stuff.

I guess that it's a problem with NB chaotic schedules. The bands do not decide when they release the singles or the albums. And companies seem to think that something needs to be released every five months or we're going to lose interest. We will have the info when NB decides so. But I'm not interested in a cover EP. As an anecdote it's ok but that's just it.

Jesper’s going to be returning to touring next year, so that’s pretty awesome. He tagged Cyhra too, not sure why he’d want to stay associated with the state the band’s in at this point, but respect to him.
