The Jazz Thread

Same. I'll always recognize the influence and the impact they had on the music production and sound, and the revolution they created back when they appeared, I can't listen to a single album in its entierely. It bores me so much that I have to stop it before the end. An album like Sgt. Pepper will always be a reference and a masterpiece, I just HATE it. Musically, I really really really can't stand the way it sounds. I hate the Beatles music. I really enjoy a few songs here and there, like "Happiness..." and "I Want You", but a full album... No way. It even makes me angry. I try every year to listen to them again, but I'm afraid I'll never make it.

About Led Zep, I used to say the same, until I discovered again the late part of their work. I didn't liked I/II/III (I don't like 60's rock, LZ included), but Houses Of The Holy & Presence are progressive as fuck, into the 70's feeling, which makes them totally different to the previous ones. They are more and more rich and sophisticated, and less "only this kickass riff" rock. You should try to listen to them, maybe you'll see what I mean.

In a general way, you always understand more the sense of music when you listen to full albums. Listening to a few songs on Deezer simply kills the music, and it doesn't make you get the real content of an artist.

Ok,ill try,i recently got into Porcupine Tree and Rush,so it could be interesting to me.

Cool, but 1) there's not even a single link between LZ and PT, 2) LZ don't suck at all, and 3) we're in the jazz thread, and I don't see an relation between jazz and sludge/ambient/doom stuff.

Kenny Burrell, Ray Brown, Charles Mingus and the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack.

I hate bebop, hard bop and all in between 1940-1970ish....I much prefer modern jazz and fusion like Chick Corea and the Electric (and Acoustic) band, Hiromi Uehara, Michel Camilo, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock just to name a few.
