The last ever Therion US tour

Just saw them last night at Jaxx - thier final show .

That was just sick last night! Holy shit was that just the most incredible thing I've seen - probably one of the best shows that I"ve seen cross that stage there at Jaxx in the last few years I've been going there. They had awesome stage presents - even playing it up into people's cameras while they were taking pictures. I don't even remember all the songs they played (somebody else already posted a setlist), but they sure kicked ass. Not only that, they came out to hang out with us after the show. I shot the shit with Snowy for quite awhile, along with most of the rest of the guys and gals. They were really awesome from a personal point of view and did not exhibit any of that "primadonna" attitude at all. In fact, much of the band really wants to come back and play the States again. Friggan Snowy was another case of "I don't know who was more excited - me getting to see them play, or them getting to play for me!" Unfortunately, it is tough to justify if they are losing money and end up actually paying part of the tour out of thier own pockets. Truly a shame as these guys were just awesome. I was right up on the rail the whole night, merely inches from those guys! (damn near smacked one of them in the head when I threw the devil horns!). In fact, during one of the opening acts, the chick next to me accidentally knocked the pick out of the guitarist's hand when she throw the horns! (woops!) :heh: He just whipped another one out and kept right on playing - probably didn't even miss a note! At the end of the set, she did apologize and he was like "Eh, it happens!".

And personally, I thought Aeasma Deavus (sp) kicked ass. I really like them, plus again, I got to chat with them at length after the show as well and thought they were really cool.

Of course, Division put on a sweet set as well. Seems like everytime I've seen them, they just kick more and more ass. In fact, this was a really good line up of solid metal acts all night. I thought they all kicked ass, plus just a bunch of really cool guys that I had the honor of celebrating my 38th birthday with. Thanks everyone for making this a truly memorable birthday :kickass: :headbang:

After that, I am a fan of Therion for good! Wow, what an awesome show, and what a great all-round bunch of guys and gals on top of that! Just incredible.

that was the girlfriend of the other guitarist (Greg) in Burning Shadows who knocked the pick out of Tim's hand....i was right there next to her when it happened as well....we were laughing our balls off at it, too

Ok, here's some photos of Therion at the Highline in NYC. (scroll through the contents at left)
Here's a fun one of Snowy after the show.

Awesome show last night.... I went to see two bands.... Division, and Therion.... For the other bands I just hung out and partied.... :kickass:

Divisions set was awesome and the sound was great.... They started off with a tune that I coulda swore was from one of their 2 previous disks but I could be mistaken.... I had had a few beers by that point....lol We also got a preview of some new tunes....

One was called "soul mate" which started off with a really cool mosh type structure before getting into the main body of the song.... The other new one that I remember was "45 something".... I didnt hear the full song title but it was pretty good as well....

To end the set Division played an awesome cover of one of my favorite Savatage tunes.... The Dungeons Are Calling.... Excellent choice!!!! When the new Division CD comes out Im snagging a copy ASAP!!!!

After Division if was time for more drinking & socializing until Therion took the stage....

Truth be known, I've never been a big Therion fan.... Last nights performance changed that however!!!! Seeing them in a more intimate setting definately improved the experience....Therion put on one hell of a show with excellent sound and great stage presence.... You could tell that they really enjoyed what they were doing and were having a good time doing it.... Very professional, entertaining, and just downright fun....

I sincerely hope that this is NOT their last show in the states as it has been rumored but if it was then they definately went out with a BANG!!!! :headbang:

Okay! You were the guy with the ProgPower shirt, heh? I was the big guy with the wavy blond hair wearing that shirt with the orange flames that you standing behind.

Yeah, that was kinda funny when she accidentally did that. Oh well. I figured that she was friends or had some kind of prior association with them. I'll admit that Burning Shadows did kick ass last night and they were fun to watch and listen to.

yeah, that was me. i realized who you were after nick and bobbie described you when i was telling them a story about someone else in a PPUSA VIII shirt that i saw.

btw, one of my friends saw you in the line outside before they opened the doors, and said, "hey, see that guy in the shirt with the flames on it? doesn't he look like will ferrell with long hair?"

Oh believe me! That is not the only one. Oh hell, a couple of the guys from Cellador even told me the same thing (and proceeded to take a picture of me!) there at ProgPower!

Earlier this summer, I was at the Chipolte restaurant here in Frederickburg and this group of teenagers were like "Holy Shit! There's Will Ferrell!" One of them came up to me and was "Dude! I gotta get a picture with you" and got one of his friends to take a picture with his cellphone camera.

One other instance, I was eating lunch at a Ruby Tuesday here in the area and these women at a table next to mine were saying things like "Is that Will Ferrell?". They finally asked the waitress and she told them, "No, that's not Will Ferrell. He's in here all the time."

One other time while at Jaxx, I over heard a couple of girls say "I didn't know Will Ferrell was into metal!" while I was sitting at the bar drinking a beer. I forget what show that was at, though. I think it was the Gamma Ray show if memory recalls.

I used to wear eyeglasses before I underwent Lasik about 3 years ago. Before than I was constantly getting the comparisons to "Mikey Tuetul" from the "American Choppers" program that was on Discovery. :)

your goddamn right! Aesma Daeva (thats how it is spelled) completely destroyed!!

....honor of celebrating my 38th birthday with.....

Happy Birthday dude! I looked for you so I could personally wish you a Happy Birthday and buy you a drink, but I didn't even see you there!

Does anyone know why Mats Leven wasn't on this tour? I'm sure it has already been posted & talked about, but I tend to miss things since I don't always have time to check things and/or post things on the forum

All in all, great show last night, and I'm sorry to the Burning Shadows guys for once again missing your set.

Nope. I can see the thumbnails when I click on the RSS link, but if I click ont he thumbnails, or the picture on the left from the link, I get that error.
Ah, what browser are you using? I've gotten response that it depends on that. Have you clicked on the main image in the Contents? Everyone seems to be doing ok w/that. Thanks for you're input. I'm looking into different ways to display images on the web besides our site and need the feedback. Thanks!

I'm using Firefox, but I tried it with IE also. I got a script error with IE, then the same error. If I click on the images on the Contents, I get that same error.

Thanks for the feedback.

Odd, though. Ben and his buds in school have no problem with this link
http://www.myfabrik.com/ambr/public/ambr/
and I've had nearly a thousand successful hits on the site. Can't figure it out. Guess I better keep looking for a better publishing site. Know any?

In the mean time, I've put some up in Photobucket, though I don't really like this site.

Doc:

First song was "Paradise Lost", from the first disc, in it's new "Nick" version. After that, the new songs were ".45 Intent", "Soulmate" (as you correctly called it) and "The Collector", which is when the lovely Candy joined us onstage as the contest winner. (She was scared half to death.) Glad you enjoyed the 'Tage cover - we like playing that one.

Steve -

A pleasure to have played on your birthday, and glad you enjoyed yourself - I meant to buy you a beer, but you pretty much anchored yourself on the floor after we played.

Ari -

Did Chrissy survive? She was even more bombed than Dave was.
