I am the official RC Dots spokesperson. I'm not sure if anyone else on the forum has even heard them (but I hope that will change).
Basically all you need to know is that this is one of the most prolific, experimental, original and brilliant bands ever. They have about a million albums and I've yet to hear a bad one. Edward Ka-Spel's lyrics are amazing. Check
www.ssmt-music.com for a ton of Dots reviews. John Chedsey is a big fan.
I have 5 albums.
Brighter Now - one of their very early albums... very primitive keyboards/recording, but the atmosphere is great. Not the first you should buy.
The Tower - their darkest (I've heard) and IMO their best. Get it.
Faces in the Fire - more experimental and weird that the other 2 I mentioned. Reccomended.
Asylum - very well-rounded, balanced between melody and experimentalism. Probably the best place to start to get a feel for what the Dots are all about.
The Whispering Wall - their latest, which came out this year. It will make my top 10 of the year. Pure, typical Dots greatness. What more is there to say?
Also check out Edward Ka-Spel's solo material, which is even stranger than the Dots.
Any questions?
