Can you tell me the meaning of the song "The Edge of Forever" ?

Is that true?

PS: The Edge of Forever is one of my favourite songs of all time... it's really a work of art...

Church of the Machine just sounds like a metal song about machines taking over humanity. I'm not all that fond of the song so I never put a whole lot of thought into it.

I thought I heard somewhere that The Edge of Forever might be based off of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven." I can't be too sure about that though.

It's strange that everytime I hear Church Of The Machine I get thinking about the book Hyperion by Simmons. Some striking similarities IMO.

omg i thought exactly the same thing, that it is just like its out of Thief 2 The Metal Age... i wondered if either Romeo was a Theif2 fan or if the guy who created Thief was a SyX fan.. p.s Thief2 is my favorite game of all time.

Thief I, II, (III) have a lot of inspiration for songs, but its quite hard to write a metal,prog song about Thief that didnt sounds like nu-metal or drum & bass stuff
prever medieval metal style for that

I always understood it to be about a man who's love died and comes back to haunt him at night. I especially get chills when Russ does the increddible 'Oh my Love, live again' at the end...damn.
