The minds I?

Taliesin:

I do not know what you meant by "not everyone on the internet is a complete computer idiot", so if you want whatever message you wanted to convey to be conveyed then please do take the time to explain.

And look: another screenshot. I have used Macs since i was a kid and have never owned a Windows computer, and apparently that's where the difference lies, since Macs do show the song files as being many Mb big, so forgive me for not knowing that Windows computers show them as being 44 b.

Wikipedia said:
A CD Audio Track or .cda file is a small (44 bytes) file generated by Microsoft Windows for each track on an audio CD. The file contains indexing information that programs can use to play or rip the disc. The files are given names in the format Track??.cda.
On Macs, when you open a cd you see AIFF files, which means that you see the actual song files (which are ~40 Mb) instead of some indexing-info file. I thought the same went for Windows, and that's why i thought that it was weird that 44-byte files were appearing on everyone's computer.

"Audio track isn't a file" - which part did you understand not?

@Arch:

I was ready to see your ass on that screen, but... I was just disappointed :S

Ok, hold up. If it's an Osmose cd, then it's got that crazy stupid copy protection on it that doesn't let you play the cd on your comp, let alone look inside of it. I don't know if that holds true for macs or not, which might explain why Undo can see the regular stuff when other people can't. Chances are, it's the copy protection on the cd.

In which case, if you try it on a normal DVD player, I would think it would work. Perhaps.

DVD data on a CD (or a Video CD)? Hardly so. You can't play audio on the PC (protected disks), but you should be able to access multimedia content.

Ah thanks guys, But i don’t know what the hell is going on... They don’t exist when I put it in either drive on my computer but here is the thing, it works on my mothers but that’s a little pointless if the videos and all that only work on hers, i have hidden files showen on my computer and everything so i have no idea what setting it could be....

I made a screenshot of all you see in the CD

This is so stupid, i have no idea what to do :/

Well, your calculation with cd and audio file sizes seemed to imply we didnt know what we're talking about and I kinda resent that. I know how big a cd is and I can divide that size by the average number of songs on a cd and so can most people, Im sure.
Yes, you'll say you didnt mean it that way and maybe you didnt, but apparently Im not the only one who finds that kind of reply condescending.
But then again, technically you were right and I didnt know the files arent really there, but are generated indexes by windows itself

Unless you can also calculate the compressed size of aforementioned tracks when you rip them to .mp3 format using one of the most popular VBR equations, you LOSE THE NERD BATTLE!

The size of the mp3's would depend on the complexety of their sound, so you just made yourself look stupid ;)

What will I ever do now?

Actually, I know that it depends on the complexity, and you do too, and Undo certainly does, and this makes the three of us look like perfect marriage material! No, really, we're so hot.
