Got those two 7"s early last week but I wanted to give'em a couple of spins before chiming in. I really like that Crooked Fingers one, real heartfelt let's-make-a-fire-and-express-how-we-truly-feel sorta thing. The shitty "straight-to MiniDisc from inside a community center" recording is almost forgivable as it adds to the intimate feel. Singer reminds me of Lou Reed (mainly because of the accent) and that's always a good thing.

Bellmer Dolls one didn't impress me as much, mostly for stylistic reasons. Makes me think of what I might've been listening to these days if I was still into punk. I mean, it's not punk, but it's got that vibe, y'know (that second song sorta reminds me of the Dead Boys...) Still fun, I just don't think I'll be giving it a lot of spins.

Hope those "Nice Nice" CDs live up to their description, or else!
