The New Paradise Lost Album

Just picked it up, its pretty good. A bit thrashy in parts, it sounds like a band that has been around since the 80's (as it should). The vocals on the opening track sound so much like Hetfield it is eerie, really the whole album marks a distinctive vocal change to the gruffer vocals of Icon (definetely not a bad thing).

It's not their best, but it's the best they've done in a loooooong time. Awfully good.

I heard just bits and pieces of it, but everything seems great so far. Heck, there are even moments that remind of "Gothic".

I haven't heard it. But to me, Paradise Lost shit the bed after Draconian Times, and never recovered. Hell, even Draconian Times itself was weaker than all the previous albums.

We're on the same page, but this is as close as they've gotten to the old style since DT. Unless you're ignoring them on principal, give it a shot. There's at least a couple songs that might interest you ("Never for the Damned," in particular).
