the official Woods of Ypres thread

i think it is time.

i heard an mp3 a while back... loved it. and now the review and interview at RC. it's amazing how much publicity this band has gotten from one demo... and they deserve every bit of it! more people should familiarize themselves with this band... they're gonna do some more great stuff in the future.

$10 to Gold for the demo in the mail! go canada!

Hooray, I bought the demo, and I also got a little button I wear with pride on my grim leather jacket.

how did you find room?

 Cool.

Free button eh.... hmmm that may be worth the $10. I'm not trying to be a cheapass, but sometimes it bugs me when groups SELL their demo.

The $10 includes shipping I think. I'm not really bothered by the price seeing as most $12-15 albums I purchase aren't as good anyway.

Hello all,

As the engineer on the Woods debut, the one thing that always bothered me was the kick sound.... I was never quite happy with it from the get-go, and for technical reasons, it didn't turn out the way it should have.
For all those interested, there is a remix of "A Meeting Place and Time" up on my website, with a "fixed kick."

The link is:

Please right click 'save as' to download.
The file is roughly 16 megs in size, as I can't stand low bitrate Mp3's. If you're into Woods, this is definitley a treat.

Enjoy!

Hey, cool. The kick is indeed the thing I've seen most complaints about, and while it doesn't really bother me I suppose there's room for improvement. Am downloading the fixed version now...

Yes, yes, this sounds better... Sounds more like a kick drum :p Thanks for making this available!

Received my demo, sticker, and a kickass button a week or so ago, thanks David. :)

Definitely will appeal to fans of Agalloch, but isn't a copy of them by any means.
