The Official "You've-Gotta-Check-This-Band-Out!" Thread -- POWER METAL

Check out SILENT VOICES "Building Up the Apathy" Power with Progressive passages. It's really good.

White Skull--Tales From The North
White Skull--Public Glory, Secret Agony
Jack Starr's Guardians of the Flame--Under the Savage Sky
Kinrick--Sense Your Darkness
Valley's Eve--Deception of Pain
Nightmare

This is a damn good idea, and I probably should have thought about doing this before spamming the forum with my thread about my music project.

Either way, I figure this is closer to power metal than prog. You guys be the judge:

These are the instrumental mixes of songs that my previous band Sacred recorded. I wrote all the music and lyrics and any and all feedback/criticism would be greatly appreciated!

All Accept/UDO fans should know VANIZE, featuring Peter Dirkschneider on vocals. Oh yes, it's just like Accept only, to my ears, less polished and more raw. And that's a GOOD thing!!!

SONATA ARCTICA!!!!

Ok they aren't new. Or unique. And everyone's heard of them. But they're my favorite. EVER

Hey, I never get tired of hearing about Sonata! I hadn't listened to them for a while, so I popped in Reckoning Night over the weekend and it just blows me away how great that album is! I like every single song except "Wildfire" which could have been a great song but just seems to be way too busy. Otherwise, the album is a masterpiece!

Don't even get me started on how cool AXENSTAR is! When my girlfriend cheated on me for 3 months and left me in early 2004, I listened to "The Cross We Bear" literally non-stop on repeat for nearly a week. That song really got me through a rough, rough patch. I want to meet that band eventually and tell them face-to-face how amazing that song is and how much it meant to me in one of my darkest hours.

Another great Power Metal band from Finland is NIGHTSCAPE, young, but damn are they talented. Excellent vocals and guitars from hell(fast, and faster). Give them a listen.
