Heheh, at which point did this thread turn into one which mocks racial and linguistical backgrounds? Oh, wait, that was during the first five posts; I apologise for posing such demanding rhetorical a question.

However, returning onto the original train of thought, I agree with StorTroll: this forum is the most entertaining one of the UM forums (perhaps I should clarify that: I mean the Opeth forum as a whole, the 'Chat & Off-Topic' - forum included). One can safely post pretty much anything here and not get flamed (except by Melancholia and Brutalizer, the official forum trolls. J/K) as long as it's not something utterly idiotic such as "help meh, I has a roller-skate up my ass!1!11! How do I rolls it off?=1!!1!".

Every time I check the Opeth forum there's something interesting, and obviously there's something of interest for every single Opeth forum poster since they keep coming back, either to read or comment.

I've visited the other band forums (and the others as well) but yet I've never found anything similar to this. I wouldn't want to say it, but to me it seems like the Opeth forum members are both more tolerant and more understanding of others. Note that I'm not saying this is so, these are just my interpretations over about the ten months I've followed this forum.

Due to my lack of attention towards the other forums I can't say anything about the other band-forums' "team spirit" but us Opeth forum dwellers definately have a strong one.

First of all: If your German (or Turkish for me) is better than our English changing the language might be a good alternative and much more comfortable to us.

What enitharmon (who definetely is NOT a racist) wanted to say is, that the MEANING of the word "my pals" is just "black" due it comes from the French "negre" which anciently comes from the Latin word "niger".

The Names of the countries "Republice de Niger" and "Nigeria" also comes from the same word. So are these guys really that stupid, that they`re calling theirselves names or is it just the American Political Correctness of changing "my pals" to "black" to "colored" to "african american" and maybe in the near future to "American citizens with relatively much color pigments in their skin" which has turned the "first" word of that whole chain into the worst?

The Turks in Germany were called "aliens" first, "foreigners" then, "foreign citizens" then and after all the newest version ist "German citizens with non-German roots".

But they still treat us like shit, so I dont really give a fuck how they call me as long as I`m treated that way. Fascism is not how you call, but how you treat someone.
