your example is not only wierd, but so far-fetched that it makes no sense. YES I know that my animals have natural instincts, and I cater TO those instincts....I also know about their husbandry needs (do I need to link that here for you understand what the word means? ) are and what it takes for them to enjoy life in general, wether in the wild or in captivity. Snakes, believe it or not, PREFER living in very tight, confined spaces. Maybe you should LOOK IT UP.

Well, I figured those were snakes...
My point is that it doesn't matter how good you take care of them - a cage is still a cage. And they "do fine" because they can't speak English and can't tell you how much they want to die. People break the nature's system by doing this. It's like I'd lock you in a room, bring you food, wipe your ass every now and then and supply you with HD porn once in a week. I don't think you would enjoy it for entire life.
But oh well...
