Nickelback alert :ill:

Those are not pets. Those are wild animals. WILD.
Animals like cats and dogs aren't wild (only some kinds) - they are pets.
CONVENIENTLY ARBITRARY DISTINCTION DETECTED!
Maybe animals in zoo are also happy as fuck? (I'm using the word "happy" in particular topic as a metaphor, btw)
Since you probably won't take my advice to go read the first chapter or two of The Life Of Pi, I'll sum it up for you: Zoo animals are happy there. There have been numerous instances of zoo animals that could have escaped but did not. Many escaped zoo animals come back to the zoo. Zoo animals live longer than in the wild. They have better chances of reproduction. They are better fed. That more or less sums up the requirements for happiness. So, in summary, SHUT THE FUCK UP!

You shut the fuck up, you're talking to a lady.

There's a reason why they didn't escape or why they returned to the zoo. Because they have food there for no work and no danger, because they're used to it. But they're manipulated & their instincts are discarded. But is that right when they're supposed to live in wild nature? And you can't say if they're happy there or not, can you?

That's not really discarding their instincts...they're still dangerous and shit.
And what do you mean, "supposed" to live in wild nature? Did God create them so that they might dwell as happy woodland animals?
And as far as happiness goes, fuck them. My species is more important to me than theirs. If it benefits us to cut them up and eat them, then we will cut them up and eat them.
