For those of us who live where air conditioning is vital to life, you have to take what you can get. Not only does central air cost more to install, it costs more in electricity as well.
You see them everywhere here.

We have free snow shovels here... it's called temperatures above 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

But the heat doesn't bother me too much. Because I've gone through times where it was almost 100 down in CT. And it never bothered me too much. But now it might be different because my body adjusted to the cold.

It's not too bad here until it gets into July and August when it'll hit 110 on some days with 90+% humidity. I really hate summer.

It rarely goes above 85 here. It gets as low as the negative digits in the winter, but at that time I'm in my toasty dorm room and lecture halls.

@Zeph My dads friend said the coldest it has gotten is 30 negative.

It got that cold with the wind chill when I used to live in New York. We were right next to Lake Ontario, so we always got the lake effect snow and weather, which dropped the temperature obscene amounts

if so thats nothing compared to Australia in January
