If you can explain to me what a "nit" is, maybe I will admit making a mistake. Knit-picking makes a fuck of a lot more sense to me than nit-picking. And if you can't tell me what a "nit" is and why one would pick it, you can just fuck right off.

And wouldn't knit-unpicking actually make more sense, being used this context? Unless you're referring the act of choosing a knit fabric. I guess knit-picking also looks weird to me because I generally associate the word knit with the action of knitting or to knit.

But still TIACN, isn't 'picking' fabrics apart actually called unpicking? Unpicking stitches, seams etc.
