I've got a coat in the closet that came from my Marine uniform issue that's a dead ringer for an Inspector gadget coat. Totally going to be useful one day in academic style.

I don't even know how wrinkled mine is but I'm sure it's nothing an iron or dry clean/press can't fix.

I was just amused that they chose that one as the one to use. I guess they just wanted to be truthful and show you what it would actually come like out of the box.

I got a call last week asking me if I had kept any of my issued camo. I told them I didn't think so and then the guy hung up. I have two pairs of pants I kept so fuck them.

I wasn't able to keep a lot of my stuff. Some t-shirts, some thermal undergear (which I used about twice) and two pairs of boots. Apparently my CADPAT stuff as off limits and had to be returned.

The US military generally lets you keeps all uniform items (since you paid for them, and they are specific to you anyway). Combat issue is on a per item basis.

Very interesting. I hadn't really done any reading ito it, but of course the official Marine Corp internal rhetoric on the subject was that they pioneered the digital design (as well as the slanted breast pockets). It's obviously very similar to the Canadian, and why the Army didn't go closer I don't know. The US Army uniforms are about the most useless camouflage colors ever.

Of course all my old stuff is a mix of MARPAT Desert/Forest, I never saw any urban versions released.
