You have no right to tell anyone what is and is not a pet. By your logic, cats and dogs (who, which you should know, DID start out very wild) shouldn't be pets either. Should fish? Should hamsters? Should mice?

Dogs and cats were not always domesticated, at one point they were all wild...so I guess that when they first started to be domesticated if someone had thought about their well-being as wild animals or considered any existantial questions that these animals might have back then nobody would have any pets now.

Cats, dogs are pets. And yes, every animal was born wild from the start, but they got used to live with a human (especially dogs). Fancy fish and parrots - same shit. Some breeds of animals were modificated by people to keep them at home. And I don't think its a right thing, but its already happened. But snake isn't really a pet, goddamnit. Leopard isn't a pet, aligator isn't a pet! But people still keep them, thinking that feeding them and keeping them clean can be equal to living in their natiral habitat. Maybe animals in zoo are also happy as fuck? (I'm using the word "happy" in particular topic as a metaphor, btw)
It's not that I'm blaming you. I'm just against this kind of shit in general.

My animals, for the second time: were NOT born wild, man. Ok, let's get all technical about this bullshit: Alligators aren't pets? Ok, well....let's take into account those who keep alligators on 4 acre pens, with ponds that are 50 feet across and 7 feet deep throughout. With ZERO predators, and ZERO humans to hunt them. They're unfortunate? Dude, I can kind of understand where you're coming from, but your broad generalizations of animal keepers is laughable.

Here is one of my cats the day we got her. We had to have the litter box in my room because we had another cat and we wanted to introduce them slowly. They used to fight a lot but now they are apparently friends.

Well, this would work. Because they are in kind of natural circumstances. Like a small "national park".

Aren't pets vs. wild animals classified as it becomes a domestic animal, so thus anything can become a pet?

Accepted means didn't die? If your snakes eat meat but not grass - why do you think that they don't know that they are actually wild?.. Because you were growing them like that? Bullshit. Try to teach a predator baby to eat berries, I don't think you will have any luck, because it's born with knowledge and instincts, which you try to kill.
Dude, you know who comprachicos are, right? People who were stealing babies from their parents and making freaks of them, then sold it to kings as buffoons. And that people were feeding them and all for years (its about giving all your care to animals you keep). As those kids have been made ugly as they were babies - they didn't remember them having a better life (it's about snakes aren't being born wild). So the freaks thought it's a normal way to be (like they were)... but do you really think they were absolutely fine with that?
You can lock a human baby in a cage and care of it too, and it will think that it's normal. But do you think it will be "happy" in 10 years?
PS: I know that my example is weird, but I hope it will help you to understand my point.
