The Ring

I can't agree there Mr Doom, i thought the director did a great job generating suspense, this was the scariest, creepiest movie i'd seen in a while. Whilst i did predict the ending, this movie still had me jumping from my seat or squirming in it at many times.

I did see it alone in a cinema with 3 friends, so maybe that's why it creeped me out so.

The director did a good job, not great, good.

But too me it just wasn't scary, and all to predictable. I literally sat there telling my GF what was going to happen every 5 minutes, she still got scared.

I only jumped once and it was from that something that had a loud "boom" which actually made me jump, the visual actually never made me jump. Hence I believe it was more of shock value.

Acting also wasn't the best, but good. Personally, I just don't like it. It's not a movie I'd buy, and it annoys me how everyone says "You have seen the Ring, you'll Die"..... and stupid comments like that.

Yeah, there was a lot of hype for this movie, many don't realise it is actually a remake from a japanese movie of the same name. The original is supposedly a far better movie than the remake (not surprisingly) however is not very accessable, with limited release where i'm from. Agreed too that it was pretty predictable. Agreed again that all the bullshit hype it's getting is pretty annoying too.

I loved it. Creepy. I'm very simple when it comes to movies though, as long as I'm entertained I'm happy. Music, books, philosophy, life, everything else is complex for me, but not movies. :)
