The Silent Enigma

again, someone comes up with the 'i-m-more-clever-than-you-all-and-i-m-telling-you-there-s-no-point-talking-about-this-matter-cause-this-discussion-is-useless'. i like it when someone does that, including myself :)

hey, whats the darkness in eg empty? not to mention that darkness is a fragile term(btw,i dont think fragile dreams is dark too).it has the darkest ssong (alt4),but as a whole,no.so... dont say its dark, say just you like it,it echoes better :)

in my personal view the 'darkness' ain't just that simple term to define.. (uuh, can't explain this very well, though..) but to me it's more the mood and the feelings i'm reaching through the music... and alt 4, yes the whole album, paints the most beautifull and deepest view of this 'darkness' i've seen!!

anyhow, that 'say just you like it' is a way far from me opinion..for gods sake!!!

@speakinstone:damn,you are right,i shouldn't have said the *just like it* thing, cause it echoes even worse after all.i only meant what just before you said:that darkness is undefined word somehow,so i didnt get what exactly you meant saying sth is dark, and it was an interpretation of your sayings more.your post has enlightened me about it! :)
still i cant say that alt4 is a musical masterpiece in the sense you do(sooorrrryyy!),because sometimes lyrics surpass music.i think.

--just a flash:i would compare it with turn loose the swans, for some strange reason. that album has also great emotional lyrics, but the music is not what would trigger me in some parts.

@moody:i agree with you, lyrics sometimes can be way more than half of the song.it was all about figuring out darkness as a term, its about touching your soul,eh?ok,in that sense its a killer(best lyrics ever, yes)
i was trying to isolate a little bit the music, fault on my back

oh and i was not trying to compare alt4 with pop music, but with eg eternity.thats why i had to spot the difference!;)

ok, i agree..! ;) (but that alt 4 IS the Masterpiece!!

damnit!!)
..and yes, this' a kinda difficult subject to be arguing about anyway.. i think i can't define this really even to myself..i guess i know i think etc.. darkness is a state of mind.

ok,two things happened since yesterday.
first,i learnt to play lost contol on guitar(the solo);)
then,Mick came to offer the same song on the acoustic, quite marvellous recording(voice fitted in this one, more than eg suicide veil)
so this propaganda coming from god's house showed me the light, through the light i reached the darkness...:) really...fuck the weak music, which i might have implied, this is not true at all.the only thing i wanted to say was about the sequence of the songs on alt, coherence as i said once before.its like elmarad posted , that every song is so unique, you may loose the connection between...

the good son(squezzing his mind to get the right english going)

I think it's different in each band because there are strong personalities and musicians who can rule the whole band. Not because they are selfish idiots or something but because they are good musicians and the others are only following them because they are not that good in songwriting.

IMO the songs which were written by only one person - especially when we speak about darker songs - are the best songs. They can be deeply from the soul.

When they are rehearsing they cannot make songs with the same feelings (as what they write alone), especially when there are stupid and selfish people in a band. It's hard to work together when you cannot arrange anything. And then you can not really concentrate when you feel kinda 'punishment'
.
absolutely spot on.

how about live reworkings of we the gods, kingdom, under a veil, sleep in sanity, the silent enigma, shroud of frost, they die etc etc
all of them are good on a piano by the way...
