Ahhh, the glory day of the 80's when metal changed the musical landscape of the world. And yes the American bands you mentioned were largely responsible for spreading metal to the masses.

The days of old school thrash bands are nearly non-existent now. The extreme metal movement seems to be growing in popularity, but not many American bands are producing high quality music in this genre.

The Global Metal scene as a whole is pretty weak IMO.

Thankfully, there is Opeth for all of us.

nothing major. all posters must be at least 18 years of age. a 200 question multiple choice test on general education and academics. a 200 question written exam on the history of music. and last but not least, a 3000 word essay on why they are joining here, why they arent a retard, and a thesis and conclusion to it on why they can prove they arent. to be read and graded by me, when im in an extremely bad mood.
