Warrell Dane sings in a power metal style. There is no way of hearing his vocals with functioning ears and not recognising that it falls within the power metal style of singing.

Nevermore are alright, but the mans voice is horrendous. Flame me all you want, it won't change my opinion.

All I know is that Nevermore kicked trmendous loads of asses in NC.

Hmmm, now seeing them live might be something that would change my opinion. I don't doubt that they're excellent at what they do, but I just can't stand that style of singing, it does literally nothing for me. But a live experience is always good for changing my perspective.

The fact that I find Dane less tolerable than LaBrie displays how much I dislike him.

I actually like Dream Theater, I think they've done some really cool stuff, and I think people are way harsh on them. But I'll concede that LaBrie is an average vocalist, in a style I don't really like. I like some of the melodies he's singing though (not that he wrote any of them... fuckin waste of space).

nevermore. retards.

+1

They are pretty much the only band from the states doing someting special. Warrel Dane is possibly the best lyricist (one of few bands that i'll bother to read the lyrics) that metal has and Jeff Loomis is awesome.

^ Sorry, King Diamond pwns Nevermore royally. I've actually been a fan of KD and Mercyful Fate longer than Dream Theater.

Btw, to illidurit, I could not care less.

LOL, King Diamond sounds like a demented witch. I have also met the guy and he is a total bell-end. Nevermore urinate on King Diamond from an infathomable height. His vocal range is poor (compared to Dane) and pretty much sounds as if he has someone constantly pulling at his tiny gonads with a pair of pliers.

But i will admit the Andy LaRoque is a tremendous guitarist.
