Hey guys.
Here are 2 different mixes of the same band/same recording-session, different Song...the "comp" in the title stands for "comarison" ;)

I have already posted the link(s) some time ago but w/o the info and not for a comparison.

I thought you might perhaps be interested...

for mix1 I used a TS for the amps (1 track of 5150, 1 Track of Recto) and only very little roommics on the drums. for mix2 I didn't use a TS (just the plain amps) and alot of roomics on the drums (for "metal" anyway).

no Samples have been used:

Mix1 TS, no Roomics
Mix2 no TS, some roommics

The room mic does make the drums sound more natural but it also adds a bit of muddiness into the mix and makes it more mono, as well. Thanks for taking the time

Dude, Lasse, this band is awesome haha! I think the differences would be more noticeable if it were the same song, but with/without TS/room, however I can hear a difference, either way it sounds great man, really good job on the mix homie.

And to add, I've kinda stopped using a TS lately, as I've noticed the same thing as FrankZappa, the TS kinda thins the guitars out for me in certain projects so I've been leaving it out...depending on how crazy the music is. If it's super-tight metal that has lots of mutes I'll use it, but if it's typical metal or anything else I won't use it.
