i actually prefer this sound over all the records, sounds like a very pro recording of their live act, everything is perfect, and the guitar tone sounds really killer. mikael's interaction wth the crowd is also quite awesome
again this is my opinion :p
anyone seems to share it?

I don't know if I prefer it to all the studio albums... but it sure has a killer sound. One of the best live albums I've ever heard, infact.

Yes, best guitar tone probably, it's like an improved RTC sound, but I would never prefer to have Michael on NMF, I'd love to hear Tagtgren on those songs live.

The sound is fantastic and aside from Mike's lack of lung capacity these days (the man who did the epic "wherever you are I am not" back when he smoked on a regular basis couldn't hold the twelve second scream in Cancer of the Soul?), his takes on the Nightmares Made Flesh songs were fantastic...personally, I feel his versions of Outnumbering the Day, Brave New Hell, and Eaten are easily superior to Tagtgren; everything else, long/high screams aside, was easily equal.

I also prefer this sound to the studio recordings. I think the band was as sharp as ever on their instruments, but Akerfeldt did the performance of a lifetime. The beginning of Like Fire literally gives me chills every time I hear it. It's just such powerful growls that I can never get enough of it.

the slow part into a brief silence into the drum beat into the real groovy headbanging part on Breeding Death was 100x more epic in Wacken than the CD version.
