The what's going on in Thrash thread

Hehe, seriously I think a lot of current metal band members would be selling drugs if not for the music. But you're right, Mustaine might be a good business man, (as well as have good business people around him), but in any other business than the music business that shit would not be tolerated.
I hope he keeps this bullshit to a minimum before the album comes out. As in I hope this is the last of it. I'm just barely interested as it is.

No idea I've never listened to them. They have 4 or 5 covers albums done live according to wiki. I presumed they'd have vocals, but never bothered to get them.

I also notice on FB DD is advertising his first gig with the Cadillac band soon. I think the music is going to be high energy and good on him for doing what he's interested in, but he's not going to convert any thrash only fans, just like he wont convert a big band fan into Overkill.
I just can't imagine the singer doing Metallica. I just can't lol.

Yeah I hope he gets what he needs out of it. I'm sure he's not disillusioned about any sales.

Neither can I. I wasn't overly surprised when I'd heard they did Pink Floyd, there was heaps of bands covering Floyd songs, and The Sword did a fantastic Doom version of Floyd. I guess I wasn't even that surprised to hear they'd done Made In Japan (Deep Purple) and Number of The Beast, but Puppets is not really their kind of music.

Yeah I almost bought that those from their site back in day. I'm assuming they are instrumentals?

They have vocals, and you're not missing anything.

I can see why a big fan might want to listen to them do these covers, but not why they would want/need to own a copy of the recording. There are tons of Metallica tribute bands who do it better.

No way. For real? Guess I'll have to look it up. It's like purposely taking the side road that leads to the trainwreck...I'd imagine. :D

Yeah. Supposedly they are big fans. But you're right those other bands are in line with what they do.

No I haven't either. And I don't think I'm going too. I don't want to hear anything but something new. 80's and 90's Dave needs to make a return. His rants are f'n stupid as hell.

Dead right.
Even if the guy gave us a single song from the new album I might be interested in the live videos, but without even that I'm over it.

I can't see why anyone would want to pay to see DT do an entire album of someone elses on stage, even if it was only part of the show. I'm interested enough in hearing them, but I doubt I'll buy the album.

Imagine going to a Slayer gig and hearing them do their songs for a set and then they do Peace Sells, it's just weird :)

The music is as you'd expect from a bunch of professionals, but the vocals don't cut it for me

I like it, but I like the comments on Metal Archives more. "You can tell Zetro is a Trump supporter", "Trump supporters still complaining" etc etc. Like clickbait is only out there on one side of politics. Fuck politics is not even the only place clickbait shit appears, it's in absolutely every form of media.
Lol. Like they had any idea before Gary said that. I sure wouldn't have suspected it.
And yeah fuck politics. That shit needs to return to the back burner where it belongs. Not in Evey facet of everyone's daily life.
