The what's going on in Thrash thread

We had a women the other day do it in the same fucking news cross. It was something about how we live with this new variant of covid and she voiced two different and opposing options in as many breaths. I yelled at the TV and called her all sorts of names, then said to the wife that I'm going to crack one day and become a politician just so I can call these fucking idiots out. I do hope I'm not that stupid but I was pissed off!
Oh holy crap. That's a new low in stupidity or just not giving a shit. I don't know which but wow. Politicians like that should instantly be booted out. Elected or not.

We wouldn't have any left if we booted out the really incompetent ones :)
You've got one of ours over there in hotel quarantine because he's got covid, he got it from some Pom in England last week. But politicians need to travel!

Lol. I'm not sure how many we'd have left either.I just read Another Republican guy who downplayed the virus, compared mandates to Nazi Germany and who temporarily refused to certify the new President died of Covid. SMH. Guy went full Trump and that's where it got him. Freakin sad.

The full Bravewords interview with Gary. It's not bad but I do love the headline

Lol yeah they're getting some mileage out of that subject. I watched the blue ray last night. It's pretty good. About what you'd expect. A little bit of chit chat. Interviews. A bit about the making of the album. Like Zetro's kids did some background vocals. But mostly it seems like Gary approving of everything. Especially Zetro. Man he was right on his ass. Hey, settle down you kinda went crazy there! Lol. He really conducted the vocals. He also gets into what big friends they are even though they have different politics. And again says. I made sure not to take d=sides in the lyrics and left them ambiguous. But did he really? Because he also talks about of brutal and current and honest they are. Can lyrical topics be ambiguous and brutaly honest at the same time? I'm not really sure. At least for it's pretty clear where he stands by reading the lyrics.
I also found out that my favorite solos on Lunatic-Liar-Lord is not Rick's but Kragen and Altus. :)

Our deputy PM is a complete nut job, but he's not a denier, so you wont have any issues with him doing the right thing and staying in quarantine. Although I would advise not to go near him just the same, contagious or not he has the ability to lower the IQ of any room he's in. If you like you can keep him, we don't really need him back.

It seems like Gary is doing a lot of defending himself and his writing at the moment. But it's not the kind we usually see. Usually it's things like Sebbie changing the words because an 90's song is offensive now, or some black metal band is defending satan, or some inane shit like that. But Gary's lyrics aren't offensive, or wrong yet he seem to have to keep explaining things to everyone. I like the fact that he's talking up how they did things in the new studio, the different techniques, even some of the solos he's written but when it sounds like he's got to defend himself for something on the album I just think there is better things to ask the guy.

Yeah there's so many things to ask him or for him to talk about. I don't know why after all these years he thinks he needs to defend that. Unless he really needs to feel superior that he's of the last generation that can have different views and still get along. And I really doubt that. I don't think Gar is a diva at all.
Oh one thing in the video I forgot to mention is that they have Paul's ashes with them at the house.

Thanks for the offer, but nah. Maybe Mexico will take him?!

I think Gary suffers from fuckwit-interviewer-itis. It's a fairly common ailment that many people are suffering from these days. I guess some of it also comes down to some of these interviewers might not have spoken to him for years so they want to keep asking him about shit that happened years ago.

I wonder why he has Paul's ashes, I know they were friends etc but I would have thought they'd go to family.

I got My Mike Howe stuff! the Shirt is cool. But I haven't unwrapped it yet. The book is cool though. It even has a little section of pics from Hellion, Snair and Heretic. And a two sided poster.

Love the face he's got with Vic :)

I kind of wish I'd bought that, when I told my wife about it and told her it was only going to cost $25 to have it posted she told me I should buy it but I talked myself out of it.

Yeah it was a weird scene, They're showing stuff and all of a sudden it's. Oh! and here's Paul's ashes and he opens it up and there's a baggy of ashes. And he said hi and I think Paul is with us? Something like that. So I'm not sure if Gary has them or Tom or the band? Lol. They didn't elaborate.

They keep them on the sound desk as a threat to Zetro. "This is what will happen if...."

Right now there is 23 comments on the post. Only two optimistically mention a new album or song. The rest of the comments have faced reality with comments like "21 days until another Gibson release", "just another guitar release" but my favourite is, "The album is never coming we'll have to settle for shitty beer and fake money", to which someone else added "and coloring books!"

I know people like Dave Mustaine, Scott Ian and Charlie Benate don't give a shit what the fans are really saying, or what they really want but surely they don't all have their heads so far up their own arses that they can't see they are loosing fans with this constant procrastination about new albums. I'd really love to see how many fans have parted with these bands that just don't seem to give a shit, but I doubt they'll ever be easily calculated.

Quantify by it looking up the number of streams they are getting on Spotify over a few years span.

Number of new albums sold compared to Dystopia?

Sales of merchandise through online Megamart?

Demand for concert tickets?

Number of online mentions per week in the metal rags?

I've tried to do similar things for other artists over the years and while some of those figures aren't too hard to come by the less an album sells, in all formats, the harder it is to find information about. I remember trying to compare Anthrax's sales figures between certain albums which I thought was going to be an easy task. But even for a single band it's difficult because there is so many discrepancies between site that claim to be accurate. There has to be a single source out there tracking this sort of data but I wasn't able to find it easily.
