The what's going on in Thrash thread

I'm not sure what it says when a label that touts itself as the home for heavy metal starts something like that in a place that needs and wants it and then just stops. I mean as big as they are it's still not like a major label so I wouldn't think they'd expect to crush the competition. And then pull out when they decided they wouldn't be able to. Australia is a good market with potential they can build and represent from.

Australia still has a very strong local scene. Maybe not all of them are ready to be world wide names, maybe they don't want to be, but it's still a huge scene that is virtually untapped by overseas influence. I wouldn't imagine NB would make mega bucks off the country but as one of a small few who would understand what metal bands need I reckon they'd do okay here. If nothing else there has to be hundreds of unsigned bands who would rather sign with NB than a local label. There is also a virtually untapped market of local promo and gig sponsorship that would see their name in so many places. However I do imagine the set up costs are something that would put them off, our government (all three levels) really love taxing new companies from overseas.

It's quite funny to watch businesses and the like now. Everyone from landlords to musos to news media asking the government for hand outs because they are struggling to make money. It's like the fuckwits all think the tax they've been paying should suddenly come back to them because times are shit. Forget about the fact they are all eligible for government payments like everyone else who lost their job, these fuckwits all want special payments and grants for them alone.

EXODUS Frontman Scheduled To Appear In The 'Menza Mega Video Vault' Web Series

EXODUS frontman Steve "Zetro" Souza is scheduled to appear as a special guest in a first of three segments from the upcoming "Menza Mega Video Vault" web series that will be made available on Saturday, April 25 via the official Nick Menza Facebook page and YouTube channel - A teaser clip can be seen below-

The first and second segments "Behind The Scenes With Menza" will feature the late MEGADETH drummer behind the camera filming some very rare unreleased intimate and funny backstage moments with the guys in MEGADETH, PANTERA, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and their road crews.

The series will also include previously unreleased live concert footage of PANTERA and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS captured during 1992 and 1993 when PANTERA and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS opened for MEGADETH on the "Countdown To Extinction" tour, personally filmed by Nick Menza himself.

"Menza Mega Video Vault" content is made up from the personal and private collection of video tapes the late drummer archived between 91/92/93 and is being produced, directed and edited by Menza's long time personal manager Robert Bolger and Wayne Marsala of Grey Haven Media.

Menza's official autobiography, "Megalife: The Autobiography Of Nick Menza" by J. Marshall Craig, was released in December 2018 via Post Hill Press.

Late in the evening on May 21, 2016, Nick collapsed after suffering a heart attack during a concert with Chris Poland and Robertino "Pag" Pagliari in their band OHM: at The Baked Potato in Studio City, California and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner said Menza died of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Nick rightfully earned his place as heavy metal's fiercest drummer during MEGADETH's 10-year peak at the top. The highlight of his career, Nick said, was playing Rock In Rio before more than 100,000 people. The lowest point was being fired by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine while he was still in a hospital bed after surgery to remove what doctors feared was a cancerous growth.

Danny looking a bit rough huh? They sound good. I wish they'd do stuff like this all the time!

Oh yeah it looks like Danny fell out of the gutter somewhere :)
It's interesting reading all the comment about Charlie (and Scott) not wanting to play old SOD because of the lyrics and how they might offend these days. I know they played the 30th(?) anniversary and it went okay, but I do think Scott (more so than Charlie) has become too outspoken about things these days to do old SOD justice.

I agree. I felt like I was listening to some late 90's shit.

I don't know what Jnr is thinking. Even though Alex's jazz is not my thing I understand him doing it, it's different, it's is passion. But this stuff with Jnr is just terrible because of Hazert and his singing. Jnr's proven he's not just a thrash player, he's proven he can write killer stuff, even without Snr, but this shit with Hazert really needs to stop.

Looks like something worth watching.
FB has been a hive of activity lately from some of the bands with nothing better to do. A number of them are releasing live shows, some just silly little things together like the SOD stuff and a few bands have even released new songs. But Zetro needs to teach baby Zetro how to use social media. Hatriot have been posting at least once a day but the posts are nothing. Just the same pics they've posted before with a bunch of hashtags.

I read a bunch of those. I don't know where the hell these people get this shit from, they just hate them for some imagined reason and jump on anything they do. Yeah I'm pretty sure they had anniversary thing.

Yeah there's no heart. It's very generic and kind of pointless. Nobody needs music like this.

Scott did say a while back that he wasn't going to be part of any SOD reunion because of the lyrics didn't stand up to the test of time. May have been during one of his spoken words tours or something, but I do remember plenty of people asking him why it mattered and that things can be done tongue in cheek and he just refused to answer them. I'm not exactly sure what Charlie's done though.

Nope, I can't even see that he's trying for some sort of popular vote type thing in an effort to make more money because it's far from popular.
