The what's going on in Thrash thread

I think Exodus might be first, with Flots probably beating them. Anthrax and 'deth is too close to bet on....although Scott did have an article on Blabber in the last fortnight about an album release Dave hasn't done that.
Ok, So if we got to choose, who would it be? Who who's album would you guys want first? Discounting Flotsam because they actually produce lol.

I definitely want to see what Flots follow up with but I'm really looking forward to a new Exodus. I might just be sick of waiting for Anthrax and Megadeth.

I'm not sure what you're laughing at. I'm laughing at scorching and pro tools in the same sentence.

"THE Pro Tools" :)

I'm laughing at the idea that fire was burning off the computer because the songs were so "scorching"

I admit I did skim the article and I'm also laughing at "HOLY Heck!"

I was going to say Megadeth for me, am really looking forward to hearing what they've done. But I have to agree with you. Exodus. I think obviously theirs will be the heaviest with the least chance for disappointment. Unless Megadeth really nailed everything.

I wasn't going to throw Flotsam in with the other four because we know they'll actually put an album out on time. But since we are. Yes, I'm most looking forward to Flotsam. I have no idea about the bass parts. It kind of sounded like the new guy may have done them? Like maybe things with Spencer were boiling for a bit or maybe he didn't like the direction? All speculation of course. Who ever did it I hope it's more upfront in the mix this time.

I see Flots as expected. They said after Chaos they had enough songs for another album, they said during lockdown they were recording and proved it. I think they've been honest enough that when they say an album is coming in the new year it's coming. Exodus for me is long overdue because they did nothing while Gary was in Slayer so I really really want something from them. Megadeth and Anthrax have spoken too much and produced too little for me to be overly excited now.

I'm still looking forward to Megadeth and have hopes it will be a good album, but a follow up to Chaos is exciting and the wait for Exodus has been way too long!

They seem to be posting as if he is part of the band. I can only assume, but from what I see it does appear he's doing the album.

Yeah honestly I can't wait to hear what Flotz has done. Cause Chaos was pretty damn perfect, but if they're gonna make it more aggressive we may have a real monster on our hands.

That could be very sweet. They tend to turn the bass up for new guys...unlike some bands we know :D. He does seem like a nice guy. I was asking who was playing bass when I watched some live stuff on youtube and we had a small conversation. He passes. :p

The big difference with Flots is that we haven't been waiting forever. We knew Exodus wasn't going to produce anything while Gary was in Slayer so we accepted no new stuff for a few years. But while a new Anthrax and Megadeth are wanted it's hard to be that excited about something that has been promised to us for ages and we haven't even had a snippet of sound from.

You better not be talking about Metallica...but only because Lars doesn't read bad press any more so he wont see it :)

So to welcome him into the band I present this....well the band presented it first but I'll steal their thunder.
(Notice he answers the favourite live song question right :) )

So I'm listening to the new Harlott album again and while I can see the massive nod to old school thrash in these guys I reckon the biggest nod on this album goes to Testament. Much of the album, vocals and sound, has a real Testament feel to it, circa maybe Practice/Souls. There is a few other bands in it from time to time but I really think the Testament influence stands out on this one.

In the sea of nothingness that is 2020 Harlott and In Malice's Wake have had solid releases that may not have come up on too many radars in any normal year.
Sodom's new on comes out this week or maybe next week, that should be worth a listen. Not sure what else is due before the end of the year.
