I guess it all comes down to money in the end and I think Gibson have been throwing a bit of money around the last few years trying to sign big names. Weren't Gibson on the verge of going broke not long ago?

It would be really annoying if Dave decided to go back and re-record everything on the new album with his new guitars. Although surely this deal has been in the works long enough that there will be no need for that.

Yeah I think they declared bankruptcy to avoid shutting down or selling? I'm not really sure of the details, but they were in bad shape.
I guess since they are pulling an Anthrax now and not releasing until they can tour, Dave could actually do that.
