If the rumours are true and the Kirk Hammett that donated $5000 is in fact ex-Exodus guitarist Kirk Hammett then good on him too.
Blabber commentors are also saying our A league mate Dave Wright donated $150.

Those websites that talk about wealth probably should be taken with a grain of salt. But it's also worth remembering that the kind of wealth they add up is everything from sales of records and merch to cars and houses. It's far from accurate but at the same time the dude has been slogging it out 40 years, if he hasn't got a decent little nest egg then I'd suggest he's doing something wrong. No doubt though that the Slayer gig would have padded that nest egg of his pretty well.

I think Dave's still a douche but maybe it's guilt money, he's talked his smack about the band often enough, not he wants to look like he's making good.

One of the headlines called it a "gibson riff" didn't they? I just assumed it was a riff he was told to play by someone who pays his bills. I must admit I didn't give it my full attention, it could have been Hanger 18 for all that I remember.

Yeah, but then theirs Lombardo’s and Michael Gilbert from Flotsam and Franky from Anthrax, and Skolnick. Death Angel. Some of these guys were so damn young. If it was all set up by them as a promo and they have something they think represents their business I can see them telling him what to play. He might well be Dave but to them he's paid to endorse what they tell him too. But I still don't know what the whole thing was for.
