The what's going on in Thrash thread

Interesting paragraph from Scott Ian's book.
Blackie was an arrogant prick but the rest of the band were ok. Well that's nothing new, plenty have called Blackie an arrogant prick, but I wonder when Scott decided he needed to use Blackie as a role model. :)

I think at times a lot of musos, movie stars, sports people, who spend their time in the spotlight come off as arrogant jerks. And the stories of how bad Blackie can be are almost as plentiful as the stories about Chris Holmes being drunk. I don't have a problem with some arrogance, but Scott calling someone else arrogant these days really is a case of the pot calling the kettle black because every interview he does these days he comes of like that.

Popped up on FB

New memoir incoming from Anthrax bassist Frank Bello.
Anthrax bassist Frank Bello has announced the publication of his autobiography, Fathers, Brothers, And Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, And Anthrax, set for release by Los Angeles publisher Rare Bird in October. Bello’s co-writer is Bass Player editor Joel McIver, and the book comes with a foreword by Kiss bassist Gene Simmons.
Bello, bassist with the New York thrash metal band Anthrax since 1984, grew up in difficult circumstances. With his father absent, Frank found paternal inspiration in his musical heroes, following their example and forging a career with Anthrax from his early teens, first as a roadie, and then as the group’s bass player.
International stardom came Frank’s way by the mid-to-late Eighties, when he was still in his early twenties, but tragedy struck in 1996 when his brother Anthony was murdered in New York. Although the case went to trial, the suspected killer was released without charge after a witness, intimidated by violent elements, withdrew his testimony.
“This book has been a long time coming,” Bello says. “There’s a lot of important discussion about the themes of fatherhood, as well as the brotherhood I’ve experienced with my family, my band and the fans who have supported us all these years. I want you to know, though, that I also talk about the surreal, hilarious times I’ve had on my journey as a musician, from my early inspirations in Rush, Kiss and Iron Maiden until today. It’s been a crazy ride!”
A percentage of the book revenue is going to charities assisting abandoned families.
Might have to seek this one out, due in October.

In other Anthrax news there is an audible interview with Joey on FB too, but it appears one has to be a member of audible to actually listen to anything. Not sure if anyone is a member but here's the link. Joey Interview

I knew about his brothers murder. But I didn't know this part " Although the case went to trial, the suspected killer was released without charge after a witness, intimidated by violent elements, withdrew his testimony. "

Dude! That sounds like a fucking mob hit! And I should know. I've been watching mob stuff for the last month! :erk:

Man I can't believe all the people that give a shit that Bobby Jarzombek is playing country now. I only clicked because of how high the number is in comments. I mean great, he's making a lot more money. Yay?

I didn't click on that but at the end of the day if he's playing the music he wants to then good luck to the guy. Shit even if he's playing the stuff only for the pay cheque then who gives a shit we've all had jobs we didn't totally like and I bet he's getting paid more to do that job than any job I hated!! I suppose it does however make a difference from the stupid fucking Ted Nugent articles.

And now for something really important, why did Benate's girlfriend turn him down the first time!!! Fark me Blabbermouth delivers some utter shit these days. As for Charlie, for a guy whose band is refusing to record anything new he sure has a lot to fucking talk about!

The thing is if it wasn't for Blabber most of those people wouldn't care who he drummed for because they wouldn't know unless they were actually a fan. Makes me wonder how many of them are Blabber plants to create traffic.

I'm hostile towards Charlie :) because I want an album that they've been talking about for four years. But he's no more a piece of shit that half the other people in the industry. I also want to punch him in the face every time I see current head shot of him, although while I do wish him good luck in his personal life I really don't care about it.

Yeah I find it quiet strange that Blabber think we care about his love life but any of the guys (in any band) who are married are not spoken about in the same relationship type of news. Although I suppose they talk a lot about Ozzy and his wife.
