The what's going on in Thrash thread

Got jabbed yesterday since they are now doing walk up jabs in my town. I suppose I have the current lockdown to thank for them finally getting off their arses and allowing more people to get jabbed. Got the jab in my left arm then fell asleep on it last night, woke up at 3am and it felt like I'd been smashed with a sledge hammer. Fuck it's still hurting like hell. I'm going to ring up someone in the media and cry that the government hurt me!! :)

Haha. Nice That's your first? Which shot did they give you? I had Pfizer.
Damn, I had a little bit of pain, nothing like that. Hope it's over soon.

I bet you could actually get some attention in this climate.

Yeah we got the pfizer and have to go back in three weeks. Because of our government's screw ups if you book with the doctors you get to wait and get the Astra, if you walk up with no appointment at a vax center it's Pfizer. I sure as hell wasn't booking! I had no other side effects just the lying on it.

I reckon if I spin it right I could have the media listening to me scream that the pain is because of Bill Gates microchip. I'll say I hear a strange buzzing and my arm throbs when I go near the microwave. The anti vaxxers will love me!!

I got Flotz in. It's a work in progress. But here's my rack so far.

Haha! I had the exact same reaction! God it's fucking ugly.

I haven't listened to Flotz for two days now, but it was the weekend and I had things to do. My wife is working for home this week I'm sure when she's talking on the phone everyone will love the album :)

Ugly and I bet it's worth a fortune too.

Interesting discussion going on (very slowly) on MA at the moment. Discussion about Blood in the Water and Ken's drums being triggered. One guy suggesting every hit is the same like a bad drum machine. Someone else suggesting he's done it because the band told him too and although he's a good session drummer he's just toeing the line for a pay cheque.

The dude has a lot to say and it's all very positive, (although Mustaine might not like one line :) )
I love the idea that he used to just treat the band as an excuse to vacation in Europe, sure it sounds bit like he was going through the motions for his own benefit and maybe not trying for the fans, but it's still an interesting way to live.
I also now wonder with the songs of BITW being very pandemic driven is Flotz the cure here to save us or is he the virus here to take us out for not making the band bigger in the 80's and 90's?

I do think it diminishes the music quite a bit to have such a triggered sound. Unfortunately that's par for the course these days, and that's one of the reasons metal today is largely inferior to the good ole days.

Very interesting article. Thanks for sharing it.

I used to be one of the BIGGEST Flots fans in the world, but I can tell you a lot of reasons they never made it, starting with their band name.

Trying to compete with Death Angel and Testament is probably why they opted for that by-the-numbers triggered bass drum tone.

Crap the first line of my post should have been deleted. I tried to post a pic of my cd rack but the file was too big and it didn’t give me a thumbnail option.
I’m really just getting into the album. :)

I don't want to go back to the good ole days. Sure the 80's was a great time to be playing and buying metal but leave it where it was. New metal (not Nu metal) can borrow all the sounds and styles it likes but I don't want 80's carbon copies I want bands like Flotz that are kicking arse with that old school feel but a new zing about what they do. I also don't care if Ken is bashing paint tins with knitting needles, people who claim he's just playing for a pay cheque are dickheads and anything else they say beyond that is white noise.
