Theocracy Music Video (Hide In The Fairytale)

Okay, that sort of makes sense. I guess I just don't think of it that way because when I listen to music, I am not envisioning anything in my head, so I have no expectations to fulfill.

Serious question, a long time ago an English teacher told me that some people don't picture the story and actions in their head when they read a book. That completely blew my mind because I ALWAYS imagine every little detail and change what I originally imagined if the book says something contradictory. In fact, I will stop where I was reading if the book says something that's not in concordance with what my imagination was showing until I figure it out and change it mentally before I continue reading.

Are there people actually not like that? That read a book and don't have a mental image of what's happening? Is that possible? Oh and, this is totally related because of what JayArby said.

For books, yes, I definitely have a picture of the action in my head. It's not always particularly detailed - it depends on how interested I am in what I'm reading - but it is something I do pretty much automatically.

For music, not so much. It depends entirely on the song. For example, when listening to Mirror of Souls (the song) or Symphony X's the Odyssey,, I do have a mental image. I guess it's because those songs are telling a story. Also, with songs like New Jerusalem, which have strong imagery. But for most songs, seldom.

Same here. Huh, I've always assumed that everyone pictures it (to some degree of detail) in their head. If not, the authors wouldn't have to waste so much time on describing the visuals (which is what paints the picture in your mind). Many of the best lines in literature have nothing to do with action or character, but are about what the visuals look like! What a waste if you don't do anything with those :err:
