Wrong. We've gotten ourselves into a situation in which we can never leave that place. Yes, those troops stationed there will eventually be able to come back home, but not until their replacements have orders to the Gulf.
Without a United States presence in Iraq, we leave the country open to invasion from Iraq's enemies. Remember, Iraq has high oil concentrations that, if they were to be tapped to their full potential rather than the 3% that is currently being utilized, they would out produce Saudi Arabia in petroleum exports.
Why else do you think we got into this war? Do you think that we'd be going into Iraq (or Kuwait back in 1991, for that matter) if their primary export was fluffy, white tube socks? It's all about the oil. Same as us being in Afghanistan. It's all about the petroleum. And guess what? All those countries that would not contribute to our little "War On Terror" are now left high and dry from being allowed to bid on contracts to help rebuild Iraq and purchase the oil from the Iraqis. Remember, to the victor go the spoils.
Neener, neener, neener.
