Dude, what's so good about Dubya?
They got Saddam Hussein in some rat hole somewhere in his hometown of Tikrit...

well lets see whats good about it. capturing a leader of an orginization that believes WE should be exterminated from planet earth!!!! i think its great, i also think its making the troops feel good knowing they make a difference and spirits should be high because of this, nice holiday present too, also alot of our friends and familiy may be comming home alot sooner then we think because of this, if i can quote GWB, "WE WILL NOT LEAVE WITHOUT SADDAM HUSSEIN!" im sure the rebuilding plans will change and our troops will be home sooner now.....
thats whats good!

Wrong. We've gotten ourselves into a situation in which we can never leave that place. Yes, those troops stationed there will eventually be able to come back home, but not until their replacements have orders to the Gulf.

Without a United States presence in Iraq, we leave the country open to invasion from Iraq's enemies. Remember, Iraq has high oil concentrations that, if they were to be tapped to their full potential rather than the 3% that is currently being utilized, they would out produce Saudi Arabia in petroleum exports.

Why else do you think we got into this war? Do you think that we'd be going into Iraq (or Kuwait back in 1991, for that matter) if their primary export was fluffy, white tube socks? It's all about the oil. Same as us being in Afghanistan. It's all about the petroleum. And guess what? All those countries that would not contribute to our little "War On Terror" are now left high and dry from being allowed to bid on contracts to help rebuild Iraq and purchase the oil from the Iraqis. Remember, to the victor go the spoils.

Neener, neener, neener.

wrong my ass! war had to be waged to end a race of people who think that you and i are cock roaches! money and oil and all those stats dont mean shit to me if my home front is not safe! and if you want peace with people like them you have to get it through SUPERIOR FIRE POWER!!!

Damn good thing you were'nt a Clainsman!!!!

Its a very tough situation. No one on this board knows the real truth. However, there is one truth. On September 11, 2001, this country was invaded and many of our innocent citizens died.

I, like most people, do not like war. Its quite sick. However, what is the US supposed to do about people in other countries who feel we are scum and deserve to die. Do you let them be so Sep 11 can happen again? Do you let the US become a police state and take away everyone's freedoms so as to prevent this from happening again? I don't think there are clear answers and unfortunately, the dogma of most people compel them to say our President sucks, he is a war monger, and is simply looking for oil.

So my question for peeps, is what would you do? Continue, and take care of the world's problems with diplomacy? Diplomacy which is clearly ignored by other parts of the world. Might I add that there is a good reason why France and other nation's haven't supported the War in Iraq. Do you think France sayz NO because they believe in diplomacy and peace? hahahahahahahahahaha......guess again. France has been sleeping with Saddam hussein for the last couple of decades if not longer. So if you think the US is at War for Oil, that may be true or untrue. But you gotta accept that some of the other countries who are not at war take that stance due to monetary and political reasons as well. They have an interest, and its not peace through diplomacy.

Now back to practicing.

im curiouos to know why you call the president of the u.s.a a twat?
because he is... nepotism at its worst...

don't get me wrong, I respect the office, just not the man.

just in time to draw attention from the badly handled domestic policy.

Let's see if he can actually win the popular vote this time...

It was the US that supplied the weapons that Saddam used to kill his own people
He attacked a country ruled by a family that the Bush family have had a LONG relationship with (Saudi Arabia)... therefore he was a badboy and needed to be removed
It was the US that supplied the money for the Taliban to come into power in Afghanistan (something in the neighborhood of 3 billion)... all in the name of stamping out Communism
I don't like the French as much as the next guy... but they are getting a bad rap here.
... Check out The People's History of The United States by Howard Zinn for a different view on what the media and the gov't have been feeding down the people's throats for a VERY LONG TIME.

Dude, they don't think any better of the USA now. The only thing you have achieved is to build up more hate for the Western world in the arabic countries. If you think Bush and his administration did this to secure the people of the USA, you are terribly wrong. It is all about interests. The Bush administration needs an enemy. And they got a damned good one in 2001.
Now all they need is to dub whomever they want "terrorist", and bomb their countries to pieces, because they feel threathened. If they were doing anything for world peace, they would have stopped supporting the only TRUE terrorist-state, Israel. But no.
