This is fucked!!!!!

What about the civil rights for a person who kills a terminally sick relative or friend. There are a lot of cases of peole who willingly have gone to jail because they (and probably the relative) couldn´t take the physical and emotional pain any more. I bed there are countries where you theoretically could be offed for that action.

Oh, I just read the guy got hanged.

Yes, drugs ruin lives but using Singaporean logic, the executives of the tobacco companies should also be hanged because smoking causes cancer and ruins lives.

And the people who work at McDonalds should also be hanged for selling food that makes people fat because obesity ruins lives and can be just as lethal as smoking.

What about ugly people... can we hang them to?

Sure. You can hang everybody. People who accidently step on other people's feet should also be hanged. People with bad breath should be hanged too. If your neighbour's music is too loud he should be hanged as well. Everyone should be hanged.

Are you happy now? I will send you the video clip of the guy getting hanged. You can jerk off to it.

No thanks. My point in one of my previous posts was that we see some forms of executions as more honourable. That my friend is a cultural thing. In most cultures injecting poison is seen as less barbaric then making prisoners breathe in toxic gas or eletrocuting them. Then we have shooting or stabbing followed by hanging. And if you really want to make a point you behead and mutilate and dismember the person.

If you would like to give me something to jerk off to, please post pictures of nude women preferably the singer from User (if nude pictures of her exist of course).

hanging?!?!?! for dealing heroin

they should make it all legal, every drug ever, make it all legal

How much is 14 ounces? It doesn't sound like a lot to me but then again, I don't know anything about this shit.

I wonder if he gave up the people that he got the stuff from and what happened to them.

Well, 2 more ounces and it would have been a pound, which is a lot of heroin.

As far as civil liberites--if a person is convicted then they should lose all civil liberties except the right to appeal his/her conviction

Which civil liberties? The right to trial and right to counsel are most important to a person accused of a crime. Of course a person in jail won't be able to excercise the right to peaceful assembly or right to bear arms. I don't think that's in dispute.

1) Heroin dealers are fucking barbaric, selfish scumbags.

2) But I can't disagree with this point. The state shouldn't sanction death. It should be the paragon of virtue, but it isn't, and besides, Singapore has its own take on crime and punnishment - who am I to say theyve got it wrong when so many criminals walk free from our "legal system" ?

1) They may be selfish, but that's not against the law. Barbaric? As I have pointed out, he only had heroin because that's what people want to buy. The man had no criminal record before this, and he never committed any acts of violence. Maybe he was a "bad" person, but again, he never used force against anyone.

2) Good. But don't fall prey to this moral relativism. If it's wrong, it's wrong, regardless of which country. Singapore has even given the death penalty for the possession of a pound of marijuana. Again I must scream "willing seller, willing buyer."

I just think that the punishment should fit the crime. No one ever forced a herion user to buy the shit. I really don't think the governments should be involved in that shit anyway. If I or someone else wants to throw their life away over something fucking stupid like Herion, then I think that should be a right. It's like these corporations here in the U.S. that drug test their employees. Fuck off. If you catch me in the act of doing it, good for you. If not, it's none of anyone's business what's inside my body (except when I get drunk and call random men at night, then I tell them exactly what's inside of me at the moment :Spin: )

Don't news media outlets usually explain it terms of money as opposed to weight or if they do use weight, they add the street value as well? I can understand the amount if someone said - 14 ounces is nearly $50,000 worth of drugs on the street. Then I would go Hot Damn, thats a lot of drugs. But my wee little brain cannot comprehend how much one pound of drugs is. A pound of cold cuts isn't a lot of cold cuts, nor is a pound of potato salad. Know what I mean?

I remember watching a story on a kid who was arrested and convicted for being a "dealer." He was sentenced to ten years in jail based on the 1, 2, 3 strikes out law. Granted, this was his third strike so he obviously didn't have clean hands. What bothered me about his story, though, was how he was convicted. An undercover cop went up to him asked him if he knew where he could get drugs. The kid said sure and got them for him but he wasn't actually selling the drugs. However, when he "sold" them to the cop, he got busted. I suppose that in technical terms he sold the cop drugs but if my girlfriend goes to the store and ask her to pick me up some milk, I don't consider her a "seller" because I give her the money for the milk she got me. I just thought it was a very shady operation and I often wonder, since hearing that story, how many other times something like that happens.

Isn't Singapore where the kid was caned for graffitti several years ago? I suppose he is counting his blessing right now that he only got caned and not hung.

Personally I think being hung for this crime is extreme. This guy was smuggling the drugs out of Singapore so where did they come from? Shows me that even with their strict laws, if someone wants to break them, they will.

well 14 ounces is a pretty decent of heroin........but not exactly bigtime

if you think its sold in gramms, 28 gramms in an ounce

14 x 28 = 392

dunno what the US price is, but a gramm is about 20 quid i think, depends where you go i guess.over here its about £7,840 worth of H

thats money, but i he's clearly not the guy who brings it in or anything.......sounds to me like the guy was at the bottom o the pool, why not go for the guy that sold to the guy he got his off? hahah does that make sense?

anyhoo its defo enough to get busted for a long long time, even with puff anything over a quarter gets you in big bother and thats only about 7 gramms worth

Thanks a bunch. I understand your explanation better broken down like that.

I agree that they should be going after bigger guy. It would be interesting to see if they did or not.

maybe Anthrax can write a song about him and call it "one man hangs?" I'm sorry, sick humor is the only way I deal with shit that bothers me.

It's reported to be 26,000 hits at $1 million street value which i don't buy. Police are known to rip out marijuana plants and weigh the whole thing. Who the fuck is going to buy stems and leaves but thats the way it is. It goes against you in a big way. This dude that got hanged has a clean record. Shame that people think about the reward more than the punishment until its too late. The story how he got caught is that his flight to Australia stopped in singapore. He fell asleep in the airport lounge and woke with 4 minutes to make his flight. This heroin was strapped to his back which he put one of the packages in his bag before reaching Singapore. As he tried to rush through for his flight the secutity thing started beeping which is when he realized about the package in his bag. This is when he started to get very nervous and even strted to shake because Singapore airport is full of signs that drug trafficking carries a mandatory death sentence. He tried and failed. I reckon if the security didn't set him back he probably would have made it.?

Wow, if thats accurate that is even worse.

thats 26,000 after dealers have added their crap to it. Anyone caught with more than 15g is assumed to be trafficking. Thats probably life in jail?
