THIS is the best game ever done!

I wrote a whole Black Metal conceptual Ep based on Blood Omen but never released it.

You have my attention :D

Remember the bloodscript in blood omen, which you had to learn how to decipher to reach certain secrets? I thought that was one of the coolest things ever in a game. I remember solving the one below and feeling like I had just cracked the code to the ancient pyramids :D That feeling when you stand in front of that cave, full moon comes, and it opens...

Play FEZ. You'll shit your brains out with frustration!

Just checked out a gameplay video....holy hell, my brain! It looks awesome though. I'm a sucker for dimensional puzzles, like rubik's cubes or those wood/metal riddles, so this might be right up my alley.
Going to check this one out once it gets released for PC later this year. :headbang:

Cool to see so many great games and im getting a bit nostalgic cause i've played almost everyone you guys posted. My list would be somwhat like this:

* Baldurs gate 1 & 2 Pc
* Curse of monkey Island 2 Amiga
* GoldenEye n64

Playing/beating Fallout 3 for the first time was pretty much a life changing experience for me, I've beat the game COMPLETELY now, I've found every single item worth finding, found every single location, etc, I wish I could go back and beat the game for the first time again but I can't do anything but wait for the new Fallout game if there will be one... I beat New Vegas completely as well but I didn't like the story that much, especially not compared to how epic 3 was. I remember me and my cousin getting super stoned every single weekend and playing that shit together.

I'm the younger guy here that kinda hates old games, they really do nothing for me, a game does have to have good graphics for me to enjoy it, especially to call it "the best game ever done"

Bioshock 1 is one of the creepiest games I've ever played, I played it for maybe 30 minutes ( I didn't even buy it, I borrowed it ) and instantly thought I would enjoy it 300% if I got high first, but for some reason I haven't since, and that was when it came out, and I bought the 2nd one and haven't even played it once haha. I know if I get it and play it ill love it...

For racing type games, Gran Turismo (the latest one) is overall the best for me, I really enjoy cars in general and to have like 200+ cars modded to fuck to race wherever is always awesome, Need For Speed is a much funner game though...

For online games, COD 4 was truly the best game ever made, I don't even see how other games compare. Such memorable maps, guns, etc. I was truly addicted to that game, I would spend HOURS trying to get gold guns then eventually be drunk as fuck one day and prestige and wake up the next day and want to kill myself. Me and my neighbor would always glitch in that game, even though I pretty had to do everything for him :lol: MW2 is pretty much the last good COD game, and I loved that too, it made me into the "quickscope" pro faggot that I am today, its so sad all these kids have to ruin these classic games by hacking, and MW2 has to have the best spec op missions that I still play all the time... On the COD4 account that I got to max prestige by myself over 2~ years, about 3 or 4 months ago I got deranked to first prestige with night vision on permanently... I was so fucking pissed, I spent all my money on weed and smoked it all in one night, its impossible to actually play MW2 anymore since every game there's just a bunch of kids jumping 500 feet in the air and shooting through walls the whole game, I really don't understand how anyone finds that fun at all, the "aimbot" thing is really annoying too, pretty much destroys the whole point of the game. MW3 seems to be getting hacked now too, only "XP lobbies" though.

Assassins Creed 1 was a fucking awesome game that most people here seem to not like, even though me and my friends think its the best one, the ones that aren't part of the 1/2/3 "series" are terrible IMO. I've beat Assassins Creed 1 probably 20 times by now, I love the story in the game, for some reason I just find it so interesting...

When I was younger Jak 3 was pretty much the best game ever, truly underrated game, I had so much fun playing that game you have no idea, and my best friend played the Sly Cooper games which where fucking awesome too :) I'm so buying the remake pack for PS3...

The resistance series are some of my favorite games ever too, the 3rd is possible my favorite co-op game ever, love playing it with my friends, the story is really awesome and the online is actually really fun.

There is no such thing as "good graphics" when it comes to "best game ever" since they get outdated in the matter of a few years.

I tend to prefer games that don't have all of their development assets locked away in graphics; storyline is paramount for me. COD and BF can go fuck off and die of aids.

Agree. Especially the games that are made at the brink of a new technological era always suffer heavily from this. Remember when "real 3d" was starting to get off the ground? Every game made in those days now looks like a set of triangles and squares attacking you. Sprite-based games suffered way less from this, because those sprites at least clearly resemble what they are supposed to be.

For example, Blood 1 zombie vs Blood 2:

Although the second picture has better shading and all that, the zombie just looks like an undetailed stickman to me. So ironically, I think Blood 1 has aged way better than Blood 2.

But I can still understand that the newer generation cannot enjoy those old games the way we did. You grow up with a certain quality standard, and if you are used to incredible graphics and smooth controls from the very first game you play, those old games may feel like a step back right away, even if they were EXTREMELY good for their time.
I imagine it to be similar to the way I experience old movies. I absolutely see the soul and quality in them, and I really enjoy some of them (Wild Strawberries for example), but I was never blown away like when I watched the Lord of the Rings movies in the cinema for the first time.

I started with those games too bro, I remember when the gameboy advance came out, pokemon got way better :lol:

Most of my childhood before PS2 was the gamecube...

The GBA is pretty recent, it's even years post-PS1/N64 !

I have had the weirdest glitch ever in Wolfenstein 3D. Under a table (which is normally not even possible) I saw the shotgun from Doom, or maybe even 2 instances of it... Don't ask me how or why, maybe the sprite picture from it did copy into the W3D folder because I used to have both of them in the same sub folder in DOS, and some database file messed up somehow, but it did ! Maybe they kept some source code in between both games and the sprite system for objects was similar or something.

@Nimvi : I agree, 2D games or sprite games tend to age way better. 3D games need more charm potential to become timeless. You even see new games made in 2D sprites (even on this page : FEZ)

Ermz... If only you'd been there for the disussion Joao and I have had about that... The wii U would fuxking be apeshit if they released a full 3d RPG Pokemon! I'd buy 3... :/

The closest thing you'll get is Pokemon: Gale Of Darkness on GameCube. Only reason I owned one! (And luigis mansion)

EFFIGY: you literally posted that seconds before my post lol

Oh man, totally forgot about this one. Absolutely owned my world when it came out...

holy shit i had a friend who had a LAN set up @ home in the mid-90s, and we would play this and quake 2 for days at a time against each other. not sure why they stopped making these games...i think mechwarrior on a 360 with online play would be the funnest shit ever!
