Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of the largest chain of television stations in the nation, plans to air a documentary that accuses Sen. John Kerry of betraying American prisoners during the Vietnam War, a newspaper reported Monday.

Sinclair has ordered all 62 of its stations to air "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal" without commercials in prime-time next week, the Washington Post reported, just two weeks before the Nov. 2 election.

It's frightening that a television networks is allowed to do this. They're actually forcing their syndicates to air this, WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. They've actually chosen to lose money in order to promote their agenda.

Wow, that's pretty creepy. Crappy too. Cræppy.

I've never even heard of Sinclair, probably because people are too busy demonizing FNC and Clear Channel (sometimes with good reason, but I digress).

This definitely qualifies as coercion and propaganda...there has to be some sort of equal time provision that will prevent this plan from going through, or at least force them to counter with programming critical of Bush.
Absolutely agreed. I'm so sick of this kind of stuff. Present the facts and let people decide for themselves. Show some integrity, is that too much to ask? It's impossible to get to the real stories anymore without sifting through mounds of spin and rhetoric.

I'm sure they've already trotted out the "but the media is dominated by a liberal agenda!" excuse in defending the program. They even refused to air the Nightline in which names of Iraq war victims were read...so much for honoring our brave men and women of the armed forces. Democrats have threatened legal action, calling it an illegal donation to Bush.
