This pwns!

I've always wondered why people say "pwn". I know it basically means something "owns", but why the 'p'???

Where does it come from, and why is it said instead of 'own'?

I believe it was a translation error in a Warcraft game.

I heard it came from a Counterstrike match. Some body just "owned" everybody, but typed pwned on accident (as the p is next to the o), and it just went from there (to the current version I use, pwn3d!!1!).

Yep, that does in fact come from Counter Strike.

P is next to O, so it's easy to press acidentally and then eventually it stook.

Same thing with people going "!!!!11!!1!"

Yeah, somehow they lift up the shift key or something. Kinda stupid if you ask me.
