Thrash!

They definitely stole it from Morbid Angel.
The other way round. "A Tribute To Insanity" was released at the end of 1988.

I can't even put my finger on what it is I like about this album, I'll just sitting there relaxing and listening to it and be like "Wow this is so good" but I don't know why.
It's also still one of my overall favourite thrash metal albums. Some songs have been posted on youtube. My three favourite songs are "As Darkness Falls...", "Incubus" and "Death Walks Among Us". Here's the clip of the latter:

Way to miss the sarcasm, dude. Neither band actually stole it, since both of them legally used an existing painting as album art, Hexenhaus being the first, of course.

Kreator-Pleasure to Kill
Dark Angel-Darkness Descends
Slayer-Hell Awaits
Testament-The New Order
Metal Church-S/t
Exodus-Bonded by Blood

That's six, but w/e.

Anyone else realize the more they listen to watchtower the better they get? Energetic assembly just ducking rules and probably a top 5 for me. I still need an essential black/thrash list

Yes, Watchtower is indeed awesome. Too bad they made only two albums. However the Jarzombek brothers have put out pretty good music with their own bands since the end of Watchtower. Especially Blotted Science, Ron's new project. Awesome prog metal, definitely worth checking.

Energetic Disassembly is an insane album, top 3 material. If Tyrants in Distress didn't sound like Jacob's Ladder v2 it would rank higher.

Black/thrash? I don't have a list, but listen to Messiah's Hymn to Abramelin and Extreme Cold Weather if you haven't yet.

Good, though inconsistent. Do you have their second album? I prefer it because it's more consistent, though the first album probably has their best individual songs.
