Some good Death/Thrash

thanks a lot man! he really liked the concept and said it was one of his favorites too and he worked really hard on it even though we're a really small band. he's a great artist who really cares about the stuff he does and not just the money and puts a lot of time and himself into it, it was definitely awesome to be able to have him create something for us.

Very nice... I love the artwork much. Looks like a Dementor/Nazgul trapped in a maze as I believe it should be. Still pretty fucking sick. Nice songs too. "Two Faced Lie", "Invection", and "Controlled Insanity" are win.

It's pathetic of this place that the THRASH thread is on page 5.

Anyway, I should be getting Sepultura - Beneath the Remains reletively soon. So, is this where I need to go to determine if I really hate Sepultura? Or do I need to go further back?

It is better than Arise. I'm not a huge fan of Arise and I'm glad I got BTR and Schizophrenia before it, otherwise I'd be in your shoes. Then again, I really like Chaos A.D., so yeah

Depends, if you have heard all of Sepultura's record besides BTR then ok.

But if you have heard all the the nu-metal stuff only then BTR is massively different and massively better.

I've heard Arise, Chaos A.D. and Roots. There were things I liked about them, but overall I think there is just something about their writing style and those dry vocals that annoyed me just enough to not want to keep any of them.

Thanks. This is definitely recognizably Sepultura, even to me. Some pretty good thrash riffs, some of the boring chugga stuff I dislike from them, and the similar vocal style.

We'll see. I plan to give the album a fair shot when I get it.

I cannot understand how any thrash fan can dislike Sepultura. they wrote some of the best hook-laden thrash albums ever. very strong in the songwriting department but also aggressive enough to go toe to toe with Kreator as well as the death metal genre entirely.

Other than maybe their first album, they are stale, lifeless, and flat out boring. That's why.
