Thrash!

Not even the best band with the name sabbat

How's sacrifice from Canada? Bought their CD from skr but haven't had a chance to listen yet

I've always thought they were a tad overrated for what they are (raw Slayer worship), but Forward to Termination is pretty obligatory for anyone big into that type of thrash. Haven't heard the new one yet, though.

Is there anything that you don't describe as "[insert obvious influence] worship"? It does a disservice to so many groundbreaking bands, Sacrifice included. Trivializing them as "raw Slayer worship" is hardly legitimate, no more so than accusing Possessed or Massacra of the same.

what do you guys think of Warbringer? probably imo the best new thrash act i've heard. reminds me of Slayer and Kreator. check 'em out.:headbang:

I'd say that Possessed was quite ahead of Sacrifice on the death/thrash curve, and I wouldn't compare Massacra to any of those three bands, since they came years later and were closer to early Floridian death metal than the early death/thrash bands. Forward to Termination is a very good album, but I think that people give it more credit than deserved when described as groundbreaking.

Sepultura are not as good as Sabbat nor are they one of the best Thrash bands.

I guess if you consider Beneath The Remains and Arise that have 3 good songs on them to be some of the best Thrash metal cds.
