OK, I see your point now. One thing we can both agree on is that they would most definitely sell more tickets than Pain of Salvation (which would kick ass).
Simon, I agree bro. They killed. They fucking brought the house down. I loved their set. And yes, Glenn said they're a future headliner, but didn't say when. Glenn also posted once (a long time ago, when you weren't a regular on the forum) that Circus Maximus would be a future headliner of ProgPower. He never said when. The same thing happened, people already started thinking they'd be a headliner the following year. I said no, they weren't headlining caliber just yet. They're just NOT BIG ENOUGH. What happened? Circus Maximus came back, and not nearly close to headlining slot.
Sabaton does NOT sells enough tickets in the United States to headline ProgPower. Show me that they do, and I will say otherwise. I really doubt that Glenn would risk booking a band like that as one of his main bands. If he does, I will be surprised, or things will have drastically changed as far as their popularity in this country and their sales.
Could they pull it off (meaning an awesome headlining show)? Absolutely. Would it be awesome and would I be there to headbang the whole set? Definitely. Would they bring people that would otherwise not come to ProgPower just because of them? I honestly doubt it.
I see Sabaton returning next year, yes. But possibly as a 5th slot (whichever one is right before the headliner).
I don't know man. To me it's more of a matter of common sense, after all this is a business. I could be wrong indeed, but that's my perception.
