Tiamat back in their Astral Sleep Days

I thought they kicked ass back then they had a Merciful Fate kind sound with low death vocals. Their news albums still have some okay songs (I confess I like some Goth rock) but peoples thoughts?

The Astral Sleep is probably my favorite of theirs, right next to Sumerian Cry. I haven't listened to the more recent ones though, as they don't sound like something I would be interested in.

I just picked up "Sumerian Cry" today, if it's not obvious enough. Great stuff!

Their first five albums are just fantastic, with Wildhoney being the best.

The Astral Sleep is my favorite album from Tiamat and one of my favorite albums in general, it is a really unique album for 91.

I've known about Tiamat for awile just never knew they use to have death, black, and doom elements. I had no idea they were such a heavy atmospheric band. The Astral sleep has some of the most heavy riffs but it's more than just being heavy. The acoustic guitars,etc.. are great.

I've known about them too. I was at a used CD store yesterday, saw it, and bought it.
