getting old

try something new guys, the power/thrash metal thing is getting really stale. four nevermore albums with songs that sound the same for the most part.

Nevermore should just concentrate on writing the best stuff they can and using it to get themselves a better record label that gives them what they deserve, we all know they're good enough.

The guys have day jobs for pete's sake.

About reinventing themselves. Bad Idea, every album is brilliant in its own way, each being unique.

I don't really see why band should take any pressure on changing.. Nevermore is the only band I've heard doing this kind of music. They still have plenty of time to do their best until the clones start to shake the ground.
Well, of course little change is always good. But dramatic change is not what I would prefer from the band.
If it ain't broken, why fix it?

Ugh - and answering an unregistered flamer is useless.

And you don't reinvent something that works. - you progress just as they've done.

...Uh... that wasn't mags was it ledmag? ha ha.

I agree Man, fully.

POLITICS OF ECSTASY is an awesome album.... It's nuts.

DickHeadInADeadWorld is not great. SIMPLE guitarwork... And Van's talent is WASTED on simple music. Look at his awesome drumming in POE... and Jeffs guitars... fuck yeah.

But where the hell did the music go with DeadHeart?

Ha ha, i remember last time i said this on the MAGS board, WD came and kicked my ass himself.

Mysterious poster, you hit the nail on the head... but not with the 'last four albums' thing. POE was their best... What did you mean by reinvent, do you mean cutting their hair and having the shortest member of the band take out law-suites on everyone he sees?

I always thought that there are a couple of Nevermore songs that sound quite similar, especially the openers of all albums, and especially as far as the rhythm and structure of those songs is concerned.
The Learning and No More Will come to mind, the four "half-ballads" on DHIADW come to mind...

But reinventing themselves?
I listen to Iron Maiden and Bad Religion as well, so I really fail to see why Nevermore should "reinvent" themselves.

But returning to their complexitiy and technicallity of POE, definitely YES!

i would suggest they branch out into other areas previously unexplored. try incorporating different elements to their music- if they would only listen to other "nonmetal" bands besides judas priest, queensryche, metallica and metal church they might get something done worthwhile listening to. there is no doubt these guys are talented and technically proficient. but it seems to me they are wasting their time rehashing the 80's, early 90's metal sound and formula. their bauhaus rendition of 'silent hedges' was a step in the right direction. unfortunately, they didn't pursue that avenue.

keyboards, happening....
psycho delicata_moog baby

THEY GROW ON ME LIKE FINE OLD WINE,....

I'm not the biggest guy around, but BOY do i get angry when people shout religion at me."
